You don't understand.
They only
estimated that the battle system would be out three years ago, not promised. And the date "promised" two years ago was actually only an educated guess. And last year's Halloween was only what they thought. And the beginning of this year was only another estimation. They had to estimate so we wouldn't get disappointed. And by this summer was when it was really going to come out, but then they had some glitches. It wasn't their fault at all, because they've been working so hard and devoting all their money to the aqu..battle system. And summer "means until the end of summer, so sept. 22nd." So there's really no need to complain until then.
...what's today's date again?
The expected date has been pushed back a few months... and will probably be pushed back again. Also, I'll bet 10k that it's going to come with some CS attachments.
rolleyes
Back in 2004, I had a general idea of what was going on when glitches and stuff hit. Now? Russian roulette. I have to wait for the woes of the SF bitching because another mass banning has taken place to figure out that there's a glitch. I really can't help but think about how long it might be before I accidentally end up in the wrong place at the wrong time and end up being banned too.
The staff members still obviously care. I give my props to them. ... But something along the line has changed a lot. The fact that what used to be a fun little community has become the source for someone's bottom line just bothers me, especially when it wasn't like that when I started.
Not to mention- with all the money being poured in, what are we getting?
Poor quality MCs (I understand that the artists have deadlines, but MCs done at less that 100% quality I still find unacceptable), glitches that strike like bandits, when glitches do rear their heads- they take forever to fix with no one having any idea of what's going on. We STILL don't have enough moderators and many of the forums are overrun by TOS breaking threads and posts. Guilds is behind in the times, the Avatar and Art Arenas are wonky sauce... plus, we've been getting even MORE ads.
I wouldn't mind all this money grubbing if there was some degree of professionalism and if things were really getting better. But, they're not. It's like Gaia's trying to have their cake and eat it too.
They whambulance about money and then when things are broken or going weird they make excuses.
"The money goes towards keeping Gaia free and fun!"
Really? Because things like the Aquarium say otherwise.
