You do realize that discussion is spelt like this. Duh

Look around you for proof, read the damn book. And then ask..

So looking around and reading the Bible proves to me that god exists?
How does that work?

No. Looking around us proves that God exists. The bible or torah or Koran or whatever you call it is just a tool.
Belief is faith in something larger than your life and the hope that you matter beyond death.
Some people believe because they are afraid of the world forgetting them after they die, thats also why some people have kids and im not condemming them.
Its all about what works for you.
The belief is basically that God exists, that he loves you and if you believe in him that you will go to heaven.

I searched (looked around) for god for years.
In that search, I found he does not exist.
And I wish more people would study religion and search for the truth.

May we offer some slight skepticism that you spent "years" when you barely have "hears" as an age of time on this earth under you belt. Or are you really middle aged? I would say that one would need to literally look for years unto middle age before being able to say without hesistation that there is no God.

Perhaps it was the false idea of a God you could not find IRL. Nor do I believe in such a God, either.

God does not exist. He does not create imperfect beings, i.e. - me, yet I exist.

Don't be so hard on yourself. The bible says that in Gods eyes everyone is perfect. I have a retainer and I read a lot, some people would say im not perfect and im nerdy, but i am comfortable being who I am at the moment and see no valid reason to change.

Could we see those scriptures where God insists we are perfect and not fallen?

It also says that God thinks its okay to own slaves.

And that you should stone your child to death for disobedience.
But doesn't that break the 6th Commandment of "You shall not murder"?

If you stone the kid to death, then yes.

Dion, darling. The Bible does not say it is "okay" to own slaves. Ephesians was written at a time when Pagan Rome did indeed make it lawful to own slaves, therefore slaves were a way of life. Ephesians speaks only about comportment for one who is stuck in such a situation.

On the contrary the message of the NT is that "there is no slave nor free but that all are one in Christ Jesus."

spoken word is retold far more accurately 2000 years ago.

Assuming you mean that misinterpretations, misunderstandings, the "telephone game" effect, etc. occurred less often / were not as great: I doubt that, but still: even if spoken word is retold more accurately to others, that doesn't mean that that spoken word is correct, it just means that it's retold without changes.
Which I doubt.

Your wrong there is alot more proof such as thousands of eye witnesses and

"Legends typically require a significant period of time to develop and gain credibility. In this case, within just twenty years of Jesus' death, Christian doctrine, conviction, churches, creeds, martyrs, and sermons—every one unequivocally confessing Jesus as Lord—can all be handily documented."

When will more people get the word out about how this "telephone" game trueism has been disproven with regard to Sacred Scripture?

Ok, first of all biblical slaves are different from the common day slave and the African American slaves back in the 1800's.
How figure? Slaves are slaves no matter what context you use.

I think the context is that you fulfill your role no matter what position you're in, even if you're a slave. A slave's master also has the obligation to treat the slaves properly.
I don't know of any master treating slaves right..

Slaves in biblical times were only slaves until they paid back their debt and then they where allowed free or they could choose to forever serve their master. It is not like slavery today where one is forced to be a slave because of superiority or a take over etc..

We need to study the life of slaves in pagan Rome.

Only God and Jesus especially it would seem, get people's panties in a bunch.

Because in the end we're all just a bunch of prideful apes that fight to the death for our beliefs.

K but why don't we fight about Little Red Ridinghood? Where are the "anti-Buddha churches?" Those that reverse the symbolism of Buddha on purpose to mock it and make up faux Buddhist texts that would correlate to the Satanists Bible?

Jesus was an historical figure. The only question remains is was he YHVH, God Incarnate? For me, the answer is a definite, "Yes!" I give Him all praise and glory.

You mean the idea that there's mistranslations and such with the book / scripture / written word over the years? Because she, as far as I can tell, and I were talking about spoken word.

Probably because Buddhism isn't theistic, and no one ever kills someone for Buddha.
They'll kill themselves, i.e. light themselves on fire, but hurt someone else, doesn't happen.
They're very harmless, and they don't rub their beliefs in people's faces.

It's funny though.
The historical writings about him weren't written until after his supposed death.

Yeah I was trying to prove that you dont need to have historical documents from the time he was alive to prove its historically accurate.
