This thread is so overdone. God can't be proven or disproven, believe what you want, leave others alone, the end.

Isn't anyone interested in discussing something that is not "I believe in God!" or "Religion is stupid!"?

Like I said there is a lot of good info on that site and if your really interested I suggest buying the cds or listening to his(Bob Ductkos) radio show And again everything I have seen him say so far is 100% true.

The general consensus among the historical community is that he did.

There is no proof he did, well at least nothing unbiased.
And popular belief does not make it so.

Well respected historians some who even hated Jesus said he existed,if we should doubt them just because they lived 2000 years ago why should I believe George Washington was our first president? After all I wasn't there.

Anyone that actually bothers to argue the point of whether God exists over the internet needs to stop now and hit themselves over the head with a crowbar.

A few things:
1. God can neither be proven nor disproven by scientific (physical) means due to the fact that he exists outside of the realm of science.
2. The Bible has been used countless times to disprove itself, however science has also been used to disprove itself. Also due to the fact that science is forever changing the "facts" of today could easily become the "myths" of tomorrow, thus making science faliable.
3. A majority of the stories in the Bible are used as metaphors for how to live a decent/respectable life.
4. War is not caused by religion. War is caused by the human flaws that reside in all of us; greed, envy, immorality, etc., etc. And to blame anything other than human faults is an illogical fallacy.

Even if that was true 2000 years ago spoken word is FAR more accurate than it is today(most all historians believe this) so if there weren't any writings until 100 years later it would still be considered valid.
