Discution of God...need proof

God theres no proof of his/hers existence but still you believe in him/her
why? its just a story to give hope and nothing else.

There is no proof of anything, but that doesnt mean you shouldnt believe in something. If you perceive it to help you in any way, shape or form, then by all means believe. If belief drives you to despair, then dont. Do whatever is practical for you.

When i think about the people believing in god, I regaurd them as fools. However if it takes an unrelenting faith in a supernatural being to keep their lives from deteriorating then why prove it either way. Unless of course a priest walks up to you and tries to convice you. If that's the case do you best to hide your laughter, it generally upsets them.

Perception of God's existence is irrelevant to His actual existence though.

How exactly does that effect what i said? My statements are based on the belief that he does not exist. The belief in a god would however affect a person's actions and emotions. In my opinion god exists in the same way as the economy. Which makes perception of it completely relevant to it's existance.

You can still laugh and look down on believers, that's not a problem. The consequences of your actions are yours and yours only anyway. And I'm talking about consequences of the afterlife. If you're going to be judged by a standard when you die, whether you acknowledge it or not holds no weight. Even in today's society ignorance of the law is not a defence.

You pity me for my lack of belief and eternal damnation, I pity you for your belief in a non-existant mystical force. Are we getting anywhere yet?

My point being, your last comment makes no argumentative sense since it relies only on your god existing in the first place. Your insistance on the existance does not confirm my damnation whatsoever, and besides who are you to claim what this god will think of me? Do you mean to say that you operate on it's level and can simplify it's job by judging those for it?

ok if God doesnt exist how do u explain humans coming to be? most scientists believe in the "Big Bang" theory, but if the big bang theory happened then how do u explain humans even existing if there was just a "Big Bang"? God made us and the world, the wars happen because of sin. Because of satan we live in a world of hatred. Jesus said that He was coming again. He also showed us signs to look for before He returns like peace in the middle east and the antichrist rising. and from what i've seen the antichrist is already here.

Humans didn't just appear after the big bang.
Evolution takes thousands, sometimes millions of years.
The big bang only explains the creation of the actual planet.

War exists because of HUMANS.
It isn't sin and it isn't Satan.
It's HUMANS.
Whether it be human greed, human envy, or human lust, it is all because of humans.
Don't use sin or Satan as your scapegoat.

The Big Bang theory has nothing to do with creation of planets, just the material to do so.

What I'm curious about is why you target Xians so, yet never do it against Jews and Muslims.

I think people tend to believe in God or a higher power because of a need to attach themselves to something greater than themselves. Is it odd, yes. However at the same time it's somewhat understandable from a sentimental point of view. However, that doesn't mean said God or higher power exists. It only vindicates those who believe in that higher power for reason of needing something to believe in.

No, however that doesn't mean I can't respond in a manner I think is how I view it. If it is in collaboration with your view then agree and move on, but don't demean my post, rather try and see where the similarities or differences in our thought lies and try and see if you can convince me of your position.

People believe in god for various things.

One would be among the people of old age. If you notice most of the elderly people are the ones who show great devotion to God..Etc. Why ? Honestly I think it's because they've screwed up in life badly and need someone or something to help them get over their past mistakes. Almost like the confession booth in the Catholic Church. Only it's you and a figure you've never seen, but you strongly believe it's there.

Well as long as we can put using proof out of the question, I road a unicorn to candy mountain, but his name wasn't Charlie, I was sad.
I ended up with a lot of candy and I kept my kidney.

Okay I'm just going to say this right off the bat you can't prove God, but you can determine the most logical thing to belive and if you really reaserched it you would know without a doubt that Christianity is the most logical.btw I am a Christian but I don't blindly believe I research the facts and logic.

Actually, so far with what I've been given, the most logical I've found is Buddhism.
An Atheistic religion too.
