Welcome to Dirty Little Secrets!

Do you have a secret you want to tell, but just can't seem to voice it?
Do you have thoughts clouding your mind, or emotions trapped in your heart, or worries on your soul that you just can't seem to be rid of?
Then DLS is the place for you.

This thread was originally derived off the genius of Frank Warren, the creator of Postsecret,
And is a place where you can post your secrets, thoughts and feelings in a safe and comfortable environment.
DLS has had a long history spanning nearly four years already, and while it has had its ups and downs, it's own share of trials and tribulations,
DLS still exists for the same purpose it's always served.

DLS is a place for secrets. We are here for you to post your thoughts, secrets, memories, feelings, problems or beliefs. Through the years this has changed. A lot of us use DLS as a personal diary, writing menial things about their day or how they`re feeling, and that`s okay. But remember that your post must contain something meaningful. No random emotes, pictures or links with no reason of being there.

✖ -- NO SPAM

Do not bump, spam or post for gold. Any posts like these will be deleted. This also includes random pictures with no meaning, or reason for being there as well as emotes with no text attached. Of course, sometimes a picture can lighten the mood, or say 1000 words. We`re just trying to keep out random pictures that have no reason of being there. Keep DLS clean, throw your trash in the garbage, not on the thread.

✖ -- DO NOT CAUSE DRAMA

You don`t have to agree with what everyone says. You are entitled to your opinion, and beliefs. But with that being said, please don`t fight with someone else`s views/opinions. As soon as drama is being caused, warnings will be issued.

✖ -- NO CHATTING

Although we support encouragement in DLS, you cannot chat in DLS. If you see someone you would like to help, feel free to PM them or post a message in their crushtag. (although don`t get upset if you get no reply, some people prefer privacy) But do not reply to secrets within the thread. Even in separate posts, this is considered chatting, and will be deleted.

DLS is a safe haven for a lot of souls. We come here to feel unjudged, and be free. Although DLS is a place to rant your opinions and beliefs, if you don`t agree with someones point of view, please do not take it upon yourself to tell them they`re opinion is dumb or wrong. If we feel you are targeting someone in a negative way, we will take action. Do not flame, or judge anyone based on appearance, or words, cause you`ll be n biiig trouble, mister.

Anything breaking the TOS, will be reported straight to Gaia Moderators, without a warning.

✖ -- WARNING: DO NOT FEED THE TROLLS

If you see a troll in DLS, (someone posting solely to disrupt the peace) DO NOT FEED IT`S FLAMES. Do not post about it, or say anything about it. Rather, push the handy dandy "ignore button" and report it to the MODs. Let us handle it, it`s why we are here.

✖ -- COMMUNICATION / MODs

If you see someone breaking the rules, please remember that while we are asking them to be considerate to you, we also ask that you be considerate to them. People will slip up and make mistakes, so do not jump down their throats. Politely ask them to scale back the conversation. If they ignore a polite request, or become confrontational, stop. Take a screen shot, and approach a mod. Put them on ignore if you must. However, you should ultimately allow us to handle it. We feel that if members attempt to police each other, it only leads to conflict and ultimately, the drama that we’re all seeking to avoid.
Drama, trolling, insulting or being a jerk will get you booted out. We’re all trying to enjoy the thread, and the last thing we want to do is log on and deal with squabbling and drama. If you can’t be a part of DLS without causing problems, you can’t be a part of DLS.

✖ -- WARNING & BAN SYSTEM

Although sometimes we all make mistakes and slip up once in a while, some people tend to make more than others, and it gets to the point where they are intentionally breaking rules. It is then, that we have to implement a way to get rid of people who cause frustration and drama.

First Warning - Will be a general warning issued to all of DLS through the Faceophillia account, just to let everyone know that we issued a warning, and we are watching.
Second Warning - Will be a PM to your account with a reason as to why we are warning you, and a screen shot of the offense.
Third and final warning Will be another PM with another screen shot. If it continues beyond that, we will issue a temporary 24-hour ban from DLS. After that, if there is persistant rule breaking we will issue a permanent ban.
None of us honestly want to have to ban anyone, even temporarily, but the rules are here for a reason, and it’s time that they are enforced vigilantly.

If you see someone breaking rules, please message Faceophillia and someone will get to it as soon as we can. Even if the incident was the day before, we will still issue warnings. If you can, take screen shots, or add links to the pages.
If you feel like you have been unjustly banned, or warned, feel free to PM Faceophillia, or another MOD with a complaint and a reason as to why you think you`re being unfairly targeted, and we`ll see if we can get the issue figured out. We aren’t out to victimize you, we truly are working hard for each and every DLSer and for DLS to make this environment as safe and comfortable as possible.

Hey guys.
We have heard you out.
So far, this whole new rule, has cause more problems than solved them.
Although we do believe that it could help the problems in DLS if it was accepted, the majority of DLSers seem to think it is an unfair rule.
So here is my proposal...
As mentioned below, a thread was made for voting on the new rule. However, it didn`t come with the option of abolishing it all together. So I have created a new thread with the same idea to it. We need your voices again, guys. We should have done this before the new rule was put in place, and I regret that I didn`t see that before hand.
The thread in which to vote is located HERE and we need everyone`s support.

And, the no namedropping rule, has been abolished for now. Until the vote is finished. (30 days)

Hey everyone!
So, we would love to introduce you to our fanshy, smanshy new layout for DLS! Everything is more organized, and easier to read. We have new sections for a couple new additions. Not to mention a nicer layout that`s a little easier on the eyes. Pretty new stuff? YAY.

You will see there are a couple new things popping up here and there. First of all, are the rules. They are basically the same, except for a couple new ones. From what we have read in the voicebox, the majority of DLSers want a rule implemented for namedropping. Now, we tried to come up with a fair way to get rid of it without being too harsh. Unfortunately we can`t censor one thing, and not another. So, we are banning all namedropping. Also, another rule about trolls has been added, as well as a tweek to the spam rule. Go read over everything to keep yourself up to date.

Secondly, there is a new section for our MODs. A lot of you don`t know who we are, so we now have a list of MODs on the front page, if you are ever wondering. We are in the middle of writing individual bios for everyone so you can get to know us a little better. As well as, a log to let you know how active we are, or aren`t being. Also, we now have a section for MODs online, and offline. So you know who`s here. And we have a new "Moderator of the Month" section. It is both to help motivate MODs to not be lazy a-holes, and do their job. As well as let DLS know who is doing great. (We may implement a "spotlight" for a random DLSer every month, as well. It`s in the works)

We aren`t finished everything quite yet. We are still working on MOD logs, and bios. As well as some final tweaks on the front page. Big thanks to everyone you put in their two cents in the changingdls box. It helped recreate the rules big time. As well as open our eyes. HUGE thanks to Ber for creating the banners and dividers and making everything super pretty!
