I say that cybering is better justified when you are in a long distance relationship with someone and it helps to rid of some sexual tension. The younger members of this site need to realize that there are internet predators out there who are all ready to say "Im a 15 year old boy/girl. Wanna have a bit of fun?" Asking radnom people to cyber puts one self at risk. What if that cyber buddy wants to know more personal info about you? "Where do you live...what school you go to...where do go to hang out...ect. ect.* We all heard countless news stories about how young teens are targeted constantly by internet predators, *facebook, myspace* and how these predators make plans to meet their unsuspecting victims to do who knows what with them. Internet safety must come into play.

Cybering takes away the reality that does come from proper sex.

I greatly enjoy "proper" sex offline with my dedicated partner. Cybering is how I explore sexual options that I simply can't participate in (I've a history of spinal and muscular difficulties which have interfered in even the tamest scenarios, and one has to question the likelihood of more playful forms of sex when just being on top is enough to put my hip out).

Let me respond to you with a question- How do you know what you are cybering is any way-shape-form close to reality? If you've never experienced it (I'm sorry for you medical difficulties), then how do you know how it feels? When you cyber you're basically RPing, the person there is not who you are and will react differently then you would.

That's part of the point, actually sweatdrop I cyber as a way of living out my fantasies, and thanks to a tendency to hallucinations and panic attacks in high school I take care nowadays to separate my fantasies from reality. I'm aware that certain scenarios would take a lot more effort and probably hurt a lot more than I pretend they do.

But it's nice to imagine that I may be able to try the more probable scenarios for myself once I'm in better shape, or just a little bolder. I've been cybering since I was thirteen but didn't lose my virginity until I was twenty-one. Real sex is a lot more repetitive xd but I do enjoy it more for the most part.

I myself want to figure out what caused the massive zeitgeist against cybering. It can't simply be the TOS.

I agree that Cybering has little place on a website like Gaiaonline.

But honestly, I think that cybering can be good sometimes. Especially when incorporated in an already-existing RP. If you can RP everything else your character is doing in their day-to-day life, why leave that crucial part of life out?

If you can release some sexual energy with it, then why not?

I've only cybered my real-life boyfriend, and while I think it was a little silly to me, there's really nothing wrong with it as long as it's not being done on Gaia or any site like it.
