1) a doctor's negligence can ******** you up even with simple things. why should the patient be penalized just to protect themselves from somebody who's too lazy to do their job right?

2) WTF?! raise copays?! for realz?! ghgghghghghggh (that was my head slamming my keyboard. and the sound my brain made as it ground to a halt oddly enough) what if someone's immune system is compromised and they actually do have to see a doctor every time they get the sniffles? are you going to try and make insurance companies write in their rules that certain illnesses exempt people from the new high copays?

3) Cost Driver for real- insurance companies are FOR PROFIT. who woulda thunk that somebody trying to make money off of my health is going to charge me out the wahzoo and then screw me out of any real service anyway! and then because i can't get treated properly or because i have bankrupted myself with hospital bills, i've become a greater burden on society. shame on me! if only i had paid higher copays and not protected myself from doctor's negligence! the only way to get out of this system of corrupt for profit insurers is to have the government step in and make some drastic changes. either it regulates the hell out of these companies (in which case it may as well be running them) or it turns them into non-profits or it takes over. which of these solutions is best is of course debatable, but no matter its going to take big government, sorry.

and even if you don't believe health is a right (or something that greatly affects our other rights that have been spelled out), you can't deny that a healthy citizenship is best for our country and society. well, i guess you can technically. but that'd just be silly.

I notice not a word of this even mentions the monopoly of health care insurance providers in each state. You really think they're going to drive down costs while, in some states, there's only one company in control?

The sum of your solutions seems to be that we consumers PAY MORE MONEY. Counter productive to say the least.

We pay more money, corporations afford to offer better services, everyone's happy. No Big Gov involved.

What American people is the OP talking about?
From what I've heard, a lot of people would really like the health care.

Exactly! Why should you suffer for their vain desires?

Raising the price of doctor visitations in order to reduce what you perceive as abuses by your coworkers? Perhaps you should not use something as critical as health coverage to mete out your weird sense of justice, and instead chastise them in person, or speak with your manager.

Only a fool or a child would hope to use legislation, much less for universal healthcare, as a new form of preemptive punishment.

Are you speaking to a college student who has chronic illness and no health coverage to get medicine for said illness, or are you talking to someone who wants a ******** luxury car?

Grow up.

look my point here is to provide a point. To point out some problmes and offer a solution. I am here to give a discussion topic. I dont want to have to give debate. There are thign sin this bill that i disagree with. My main point here is there are items we can fix before just throwing the problem into the lap of the government.
That's nice, Where is the debate though?
Sir, you have already made your choice on how you think . Tell me how i could change your mind? and then i will do my best to do so.
I have put forth my views and have given a call to action. Im not here to debate but to have a dicussion. Thank you.
I am trying to tell you the ED is a debate forum. it is not called "extended support rally". if you want to post this, there's a petitions forum made specifically for this.

Last time I looked, ED stood for Extended Discussion which is seems people are doing some of that. It is not necessarily just to debate opposing views.

@OP I will not be sending that letter as I am a supporter of the proposed healthcare reform. Healthy people make a stronger nation and we are not on this earth to pick and choose who we feel are more "deserving" of decent healthcare. There are more working poor who can't afford to pick between going to the doctor and putting food on the table than there are people leeching the system. If you want to fix that, than fix thewelfare system. The current welfare system actully makes it more difficult for people to get back into the workforce. If you make a salary that almost hits the top of the poverty level, your benefits are cut drastically. It is a Catch 22 system. You're damned if you do and damned if you don't.
