so true.. so sad.. v.v

What is? so true.. so sad..?

the fact that the good artists doesnt sell art v.v

Artist usually post their art worth by how they feel how much it should be or how much effort they put in.

"I want a BMW M6. But I only want to pay $100."

That's ridiculous. And that's what you're saying. Except you're trying to justify the fact that you're complaining about it, while other people note how ridiculous that is. It is exactly the same as going to a BMW dealership and saying, "Why don't you guys sell this fast and sexy marvel of modern driving for cheap? Geez!" and actually MEANING IT.

While I get that you don't want to pay a lot of gold for work, I think what's pissing people off is that you somehow think it's fair for an artist to work for nothing, or that you SHOULD pay people unfairly. That kind of mentality would be awesome running a sweatshop, I'm sure.

In also saying that an artist should only work for the joy of drawing, as opposed to working for money, you completely ignore that drawing skill is something that people work their whole lives for. An artist shouldn't have the right to love art, and ALSO want compensation for their hard work? That's naive. When an artist draws for herself, this is because she loves art. When an artist draws for others, and to specification, it is not the same thing. Because of the fact that we have to draw whatever potentially crappy images people have in their minds, there should be compensation, and it should be ample.

Also, who in their right mind goes, "Gee, this guy is offering me a million gold and this guy is offering me 5,000 gold to draw the same kind of stuff. I'll go for the one offering 5,000!". How could someone hold it against any artist to take the larger sum when people are happily willing to pay that? That's like insulting someone for having any kind of survival instinct. Your kind pisses a lot of artists off, though, because you try to bully artists into lowering their prices when really, you're lucky when anyone is willing to draw for you. It's almost like you're bothered that skilled artists know how much they're worth. How completely exploitative. Do you act like it's "unfair" because you lack any skills that are worth paying for? I'm not asserting this, I'm asking where your attitude comes from.

If I had to guess, I'd say you simply don't value art very much, since you have your limits as to what you want to pay. It's fine to feel this way, but in doing so you forfeit the right to complain.

Too busy for commissions right now.

"An artist can either spend 5 hours of 'free time' on a Gaia commission, or they can spend it on a real money commission." Ok good then get off gaia and go make your real money.

What an arrogant, delusional sense of entitlement you seem to have.

Avi art is a luxury, not a necessity. If you can't afford it, tough crap. You'll live without it. Stop whining and get over yourself.

It's already good that some people in GAIA are willing to sell their great artistic skill just for tiny little pixels...

Normally they charge real money, now you can pay with virtual money. That's very luxurious to me.

With that attitude of yours... omg nobody would sell art to you sweatdrop

Hahahaha yeah your probably right. I have got a few people doing some art for me now, I hope they dont change thier mind and give my gold back.

That's because they only want your gold and they didn't know that you have this shitty attitude and no respect at all for good arts.

I bet nobody good would actually do art for 10k... If anything they're newbies who don't know the prices of good art gonk

Bye, GAIA.
OP: You know how much 10k is worth in the marketplace with inflation? If you think it's a lot, your delusional. But your a riot to read about none the less xd On a side note though, with your attitude, I don't think I would do art for you if you paid me 1mil to begin with. Your just the kind of overly high on the horse commissioner I want to stay far, far away from LOL

Agreed, which is why I don't charge all that much for commissions. Not to mention that I'm highly experimental at times.

Elitism:
It's lonely at the top. But it's comforting to look down upon everyone at the bottom.

In the roaring traffic's boom, in the silence of my lonely room,
I think of you.

And yes you said you are happy to do it. Thats the only reason people should ever draw anything!

Somehow I knew that was coming.

Do you try to convince the chef that loves to cook that he should feed you for free? Do you tell the cabbie that loves to drive to pick you up for free? Better yet, if you happen to get lucky enough to find a job you love, are you going to refuse your paycheck when your boss hands it to you? Will you tell him that you enjoyed your work so much that you'll take a pay cut? Or are you a complete and total hypocrite?

Geez. There is art in your price range. Stick to it and leave the more expensive artists alone. I'm quite sure that you won't be able to belittle them into cheapening themselves for you.

I'd be way too shamed to even offer someone less than 10k, seriously. If I saw an artist painting on the street and selling his paintings - I wouldn't be able to imagine myself going to him, slapping 50 cents onto his hand and telling him to make me a great picture of myself and not one of those "crappy ones". But I can completely imagine you doing that. ;)

"I want a BMW M6. But I only want to pay $100."

That's ridiculous. And that's what you're saying.

QFT.

Using the car analogy, some artists are very skilled; their art could be compared to a Mercedes. Others don't have as much experience, and their work isn't as good; their art could be compared to a Camry. You think a Mercedes shouldn't cost more than a Camry? It's okay if you don't want to spend your money on an expensive car (I wouldn't either, even if I had enough money), but it's ridiculous to demand that they lower the price that much.

You want a Mercedes art? Get enough gold to afford a Mercedes art. If you only have enough to afford a Camry art, then sorry, but don't expect the Mercedes artist to lower their price to a Camry level. Even if you don't buy from them, there are people who CAN afford Mercedes art, and they will keep the artist's business going.

Like you said, not everyone has millions of spare gold lying around. Just like how not everyone can afford a Mercedes or a Jaguar or a Lamborghini. That's the way it is.

Exactly. If I have person A offering me five million gold for a picture, and person B offering me five thousand gold, which one do you think I'll go with? A or B?
