Welcome to Gaia! ::

Damn. I never thought it would be that hard to find one simple spite sheet... I can only find 1 lone sprite...

Ah, what an evening.

Got home, conked out for about three and a half hours.

Ate a dinner of ramen and mozzarella sticks. A.K.A., the dinner of champions.

Went to check things on here, and found this website and a few others I tried to open mysteriously broke.

Cleared like all cookies and cached data and whatnot to fix it.

Oy vey.

Upside, I quickly made two new sprites while running Spybot S&D to make sure nothing malicious was on my computer:

I'm always on a roll. ;o
Spam, Spam Spammity spaaaam!

Thanks for pointing the way, Raenef. Although I'm far to OOC in the Objection thread, in any event, I truly should be ashamed of myself.

Happy Friday, all, and hooray for new Gaia plot development. I'm so pleased with that.

I hope everyone's doing well and doesn't mind me horning in on yet ANOTHER thread!

Why would we mind? We can always use more undead and bunnies. ='D
I know I can always use more bunnies. The world is bunny-sparse, I tell you!

Anyway, hi, Pie! I think we've talked maybe once in the other thread, so now's my chance. It's nice to officially meet you.

I saw your list of sprites, and they're lovely. I like your broad selection.

Nice to officially meet you, too! 4laugh And thank you.

And on a different note, just because I'm proud of it, in response to some people wondering about what a friggin' weird name Naruhodou is:

It does seem rather odd. It's his family name, correct? Most Japanese family names refer to a location where the family was located when the name was given... hence why ones meaning "mountain" or "field" and the like are common.
Perhaps there was some ancestor of his who either asked the question a lot, or had the question asked of him a lot.

And then after:

I guess you can say I have a particular interest in family names. First names are more distinctive to periods, if anything, but family names are a record of history.

User Image
Japanese surnames are particularly interesting, since they're actually a fairly recent addition. Before the Restoration, most people didn't have them. The Restoration made every family choose a surname, so most were given the most obvious choices.

User Image
For most people, that was based on where they live... I can't imagine a person who would be so, ah, questionable that "Naruhodou" would be a more obvious choice.

Yes, I did go out of my way just to be that much of a geek and indirectly imply that Nixxi is sketchy while doing it.

whee
I didn't catch what the name translated as, but I know that I was impressed to know that you knew about surnames names post- and pre-Restoration. *nod* I'm always impressed when people geek out on topics that they know well.

I hadn't actually wondered about name translation, because what I know about Japanese names could fit in a shot glass. Eh heh.

Well, the translation they were using was "Is that so?", but Wikipedia translates it as "Yes, I see." - basically, it's generally an affirmation that you understand something now. So, it'd be common to say it after someone answered a question for you...

We were actually talking about surnames in my Japanese class on Thursday, so the information's pretty fresh in my head at the moment. 3nodding

*reports the post*
Hello all! I got an R4 yesterday, and was playing it all yesterday.
My fingers hurt....

But who cares? A day of R4 can only mean I has some new story for poor Ronnie. I think.
