Do you realize how often people get circumcised as adults? not very often, 80% of the world is uncircumcised, even in the US, its a dying thing

and so its perfectly ok to do anything painful to a baby because they won't remember it, punch it in the face, it won't remember, not comparing the two, but you should get my point

Also, have you seen a video of one being done, just because they won't remember it, does not mean its ok to cause unnecessary pain, just for cosmetic reasons

and another thing, getting it done later in life is fine, thats their choice, but like I said, the vast majority of men, don't do it, and if you were circumcised and want to be uncut, there is nothing you can do to truly get it back

1. Just because a baby won't remember it, doesn't make it hurt any less.
My baby wouldn't remember it if I burned her with cigarettes... but it'd still be a ******** horrible thing to do.
Hurting your baby isn't okay just because they won't remember it.

2. Circumcision doesn't just hurt at the time, it hurts for days afterward, too.
An adult (or even an older child) can be put under general anesthetic for the actual operation, and be given strong pain killers to help with the after pain. A new born baby can not.
So circumcising your baby actually means that they endure more pain than they would if they were older.

3. If there's no need to get it done (like unusual medical circumstances) then why get it done at all?
It should be your son's decision, not yours.

4. Removal of the foreskin greatly reduces sexual pleasure, especially when using condoms. Many circumcised men can't even reach climax while using a condom, or have extreme difficulty, much more so than uncircumcised men.
I see it as a parent's responsibility to do absolutely everything in their power to ensure that their child uses protection when they are old enough to be sexually active.
Circumcising your child gives them a reason not to use condoms.

I don't doubt it would be painful, but babies can't remember anything. You don't start to form memories until you're around a few years old.
I, personally, would get my child circumsized. Sorry if that makes me a terrible parent, but I don't give a s**t about your opinion. It'd be my kid, not yours.

I'm against it.
It's unnecessary in most cases, so why make the baby suffer? If there are medical complications due to which it has to be removed or the male decides later in life that he wants to get rid of it, I don't mind. But what kind of cruel parent are you to willingly cause your child pain when it isn't needed?
It's like 'oh hey, it's ok if I don't feed the little guy for a few days. He'll get over it and won't remember it later in life, anyway.'

If it isn't your body, it isn't your decision to make. Anesthesia is not used on newborns, so they strap the baby to the table and begin cutting off a part of his body while he's still awake and fully aware of pain. The foreskin is still fused to the head of the p***s at that point, so the doctor performing the surgery has to pry it off, much like prying off a fingernail, before they can start cutting.

I'm not circumcised because I'm a girl but this is still an issue.

Have you read any of the results of reputable medical studies done to determine whether circumcision is a necessary thing? Because they all say that it is cosmetic. All of them.

The practice of circumcision in America with Christians actually began during the Victorian era to prevent masturbation because removing the foreskin could make both it and sex painful. It's been touted as being the cure for one thing after the next all the way to HIV, and none of those claims have been proven. Some of them have been proven to be completely false.

Its like me saying chemotherapy is easy and painless, when infact since I have never gone through it I wouldnt know. All this crap about permanent damage and reduced sexual pleasure, Its just dumb, and most research done is biased, everyone chooses things through personal experience its human nature. Once you go out and ask random people on the street who are circumcised how they feel about it, then Ill take you seriously, I can just as easily refer to a thousand studies that say circumcision is right and it has many many benefits, but just like your sources they will be biased. Ive said it a million times, Your kids, your choice, other peoples kids, their choice, and no amount of foot stomping is gonna change that, be glad your not in the middle east, parents there dont even get a choice their babies are circumcised routinely due to islamic law.
