Chatterbox Forum Rules and Guidelines

Welcome to the Chatterbox (CB) forum! Chatterbox is intended for users to have a place to do everything from spamming and bumping to conversing and role-playing. Threads or posts on any topic are acceptable here provided they follow the ToS and rules outlined in this sticky.

As a member, it is your responsibility to familiarize yourself with the forum's rules before posting. Posting in this forum implies that you read and understand the rules and guidelines and that you accept responsibility for the appropriateness of your thread or post.

General Posting Guidelines

Please be sure to follow the Terms of Service and Rules and Guidelines here, as in all forums.

Common violations to avoid:

Scamming. Taking or attempting to take another member's gold, items or efforts, through false promises, deception, tricks or get-rich-quick schemes is considered scamming and is not tolerated on Gaia.

Reporting Non-Violations. Using the report system to report things such as spam, swearing, and advertising is not the proper use of the report system. Such things are allowed in the Chatterbox and in-thread rules must be enforced by the thread creator. Abusing the report system in this way may result in a warn on your account.

Quoting ToS Violations. Users should NOT quote Terms of Service violations of any type at any time in the forums. This includes, but is not limited to the following:
    • Explicit images or text
    • Flaming/trolling
    • Page stretching
    • Scam links/posts
When you quote a Terms of Service violation, it is almost as bad as posting them yourself. Feel free to report the post through the forum report system.

When to Contact a Moderator Directly
    • People continuously posting offensive images.
    • People continuously posting images which are not appropriate for Gaia.
    • People continuously scam spamming.
    • Anyone continuously violating a major rule.

Terms of Service violations may result in a warning or a ban on your account.

Thread creators are responsible for their own threads.
    Quote:
The moderation team would like to remind all thread creators that they are ultimately responsible for the content that is created in their threads. When creating a thread on Gaia, many forums give the thread creator the ability to moderate content themselves through deleting posts, "hiring" their own thread staff, etc. Just as any user on the site, they also have access to the report feature in order to alert the moderation team that someone is violating the Terms of Service in their thread.

These policies regarding moderating/monitoring/etc your thread apply to:
      • Hang-out Threads/Pair-up Threads
      • Role-plays
      • Contests
      • Shops

However, if a thread is being used by multiple individuals to violate the Terms of Service without proper moderation by the thread creator, it is considered a violation itself. Threads that are not properly moderated by thread creators or appointed thread "staff" will be subject to removal by the moderation team.

      Tips for proper thread moderation:
      • Report/remove violating posts made by other members.
      • Place repeat offenders on your ignore list so that they are unable to post in thread.
      • Set up clear thread rules that enforce the Terms of Service and Rules & Guidelines of Gaia.
      • Appoint reliable thread "staff" to help report violating behavior and alert thread creators.
      • If you can no longer moderate your own thread, close the thread and ask that members do not post in it.

If the moderation team discovers that your thread is not properly moderated and contains violating behavior without intervention, it is subject to removal and penalties may be placed on the thread creator's account. While Gaia's moderation team will take care of Terms of Service violations which have been reported, as a thread creator you have a responsibility to ensure users within your thread are abiding by Gaia's Terms of Service, Rules & Guidelines, and any relevant forum rules. If users are breaking these rules, it is your responsibility to report them. If you are unable to maintain your thread to an acceptable standard, it may be locked or removed and penalties such as warnings/bans may be placed on your account. All accounts under one owner are expected to follow the Terms of Service, any and all activity on one account will reflect on all accounts.

If you find Terms of Service violations, or threads that may need moved to a different forum, please use an appropriate report. The procedures for doing so can be found here.

You can find online moderators by following the "View Forum Moderators" link at the top of the forum.

Gaia Staff will NEVER ask for your password! If anyone asks you for your password, report it.
Rules & Guidelines for Posting in Chatterbox - Explicit Content Violations & Cybering

  • Make sure to follow Gaia Appropriate Content Guidelines at all times.

  • Cybering is described as "descriptive sexual roleplay." Cybering in all forms is not allowed on Gaia. This includes requesting, offering or encouraging cybering in your threads, posts or PMs. Please be careful when posting vague requests for fun or offers of fun. If they could easily be seen as a cyber invitation or request, you risk getting warned for violating the cybering rule.
    • Please also be aware that telling people to "take it to PMs" is considered encouragement to violate the Terms of Service. Some examples include making thread rules ("no cybering (take it to PMs if you must)" or "cyber in PMs, not here") or in thread conversation ("if you guys are going to do that, go somewhere private") Anyone using these or similar phrases may receive a warning for explicit content violations. You should report users who are cybering instead of encouraging them.

  • Regarding RP requests. Do not recruit for sexually explicit or violently graphic roleplays, which are in violation of Gaia's Terms of Service. Recruitment threads for group or one-one-one roleplays should:
    • Never propose adult/sexual ratings (e.g. "Rated R", "Rated XXX" )
    • Never ask for limits/ratings from potential roleplayers, or offer to discuss limits/ratings in private
    • Never propose "no limit" roleplays
    • Never request roleplays involving any sort of adult/pornographic/explicit genre or concept (eg."Futanari", "Incest", "Cyber" )

  • Strip clubs and other roleplaying that violates explicit content rules is prohibited. Such threads will be deleted and creator(s) of the thread will be warned. Slave RP will fall under this category unless they meet the allowed conditions for Slave RP listed in the Barton Town sticky.

  • Threads with the purpose of "pairing up" or "matching up" users with the purpose of finding "partners" are no longer allowed.
      • This means the threads such as "Girls Bend Over, Guys Spank Them", "Guys Find a Sofa, Girls Find A Lap", and similar variations are no longer allowed. Including, but not limited to, hangouts with the intention of individuals finding another individual to spend personal one-on-one time with.
      • Previously these thread were allowed as long as cybering and "take it to PMs" style conversations were not encouraged, however while users were not usually engaging in this behavior within the threads, we have found that many people used these threads as a means to try and find others to engage in inappropriate content. Given these types of threads became a hunting ground for users looking for inappropriate relationships and engagements these style of threads are no longer going to be permitted.
      • Hangouts focused on engagement within the community and searching for friends and like-minded people are still allowed as long as the focus is not on seeking out one-on-one relationships.
      • Attempts to create threads focused on "pairing up" will result in the removal of the thread along with warnings and/or bans being placed on your account.

  • Webcam shows also are not allowed.

  • Images and content also must comply with Gaia's rules regarding explicit content.
    • Artistic nudity must not be posted directly, however it may be linked. The link cannot be misleading and must include a warning with the content of the link.
    • Only extremely limited artistic nudity is acceptable on Gaia. If you are unsure whether a particular image follows this guideline, ask a mod. You are responsible for what you post.
    • Sexually explicit images that are not artistic in nature are not allowed on Gaia.
    • Sexually explicit and pornographic images are strictly forbidden.
    • Posting, requesting, or selling such images or content will result in a warning.

  • Cleavage images are not considered to be in violation of any explicit content rules. However this only applies as long as they do not show any n****e and are not provocative or overly revealing.
    • Images of cleavage/breasts or private areas not covered with any clothing even if blocked by limbs, a sign, other objects, etc. is considered overly revealing and thus not allowed.
    • Users may have 'Cleavage Quests' as long as the images they are asking for fit in the Image Guidelines. If a user asks for sexy, nude, provocative, etc. cleavage shots, they will be warned.

  • Having only see-through clothing including but not limited to transparent bras, panties, etc. covering private areas are not sufficient to prevent an image from being overly revealing and thus a violation.

  • Images of users in just panties and boxer/briefs are not allowed. This standard applies to photos of users. Other images still fall under the general image guidelines listed above.

  • Images containing excessive gore or violence are also considered to violate Gaia's appropriate image guidelines.

Daddy Dom/Little Girl and similar BDSM roleplays are not allowed on Gaia.
    Quote:
Daddy Dom/Little Girl, Mommy Dom/Little Boy, etc (noted as dd/lg from here on out) refers to a BDSM relationship between an adult male/female and someone portraying a younger/underage childlike persona with the adult persona being in a father/mother/caregiver type of role.

While this kind of fetish/subculture is often between two consenting adults, because of the nature of these sorts of roleplays we do not allow them on Gaia. Many explore this as a sexual fetish and the nature of adultxchild relationships that are involved is not appropriate on the site. Gaia has never allowed BDSM roleplays, and we are now considering dd/lg as being under the same category. Any roleplaying or attempting to find partners for roleplays of this nature is strictly forbidden on Gaia.

We understand that for many, it is not their intent to have a sexual roleplay. However, we cannot risk the potential of underage users being involved in a roleplay with an adult where the nature of the roleplay may become sexual on one or both sides. As Gaia does allow anyone aged 13 and older to join the site, any attempts to engage in a dd/lg relationship or roleplay with another user will be removed with the potential for warnings and/or bans being placed on the account.

There are other websites where this sort of roleplay/relationship is welcome and ask those users that are interested to seek it elsewhere.

So we can't roleplay family roleplays anymore?
This rule is not meant to restrict genuine family roleplays. If you are wanting to roleplay a non-BDSM relationship between members of a family, such as those often found in Barton Town, you are still allowed as long as you are not engaging in one related to dd/lg and the like as described above.

      These are just a few examples of what is and is not allowed;
      • I'm a Mommy just looking for her Little. - Not appropriate
      • I'm a 32 y/o Daddy wanting to play house with his Little - Not appropriate
      • Looking for a Family. Wanted: Mom, Son, and Grandma - Appropriate
      • Wanting Mother/Daughter crime-fighting duo! - Appropriate
      • Daddy wants to "play" with his lg - Not appropriate

Will I be banned if I call someone Daddy?
No. We recognize that the term 'daddy' can be applied in various scenarios that are not sexual in nature and are only disallowing those that apply specifically to the dd/lg relationship type roleplays regardless of if they are sexual or not. Users casually calling their significant other/friend 'daddy' and not otherwise violating our Terms of Service is fine.

Does this mean we can't discuss dd/lg relationships?
In terms of a discussion topic, Gaia does allow many topics of content that we do not otherwise allow you to engage in. Users who wish to discuss dd/lg relationships in a mature way that doesn't result in the solicitation or engagement of this type of relationship is allowed within reason as long as users are doing so in a way that follows our Terms of Service and is not graphic, explicit, descriptive or otherwise an attempt to solicit others or find partners.

OnlyFans and Premium Snapchat are not allowed on Gaia Online.

    Quote:
OnlyFans is an 18+ subscription-based social media platform where users can sell original content. The platform allows fans to pay to see their favorite performers on a subscription basis. It is popular among sex-workers and people in the adult entertainment industry.

    Quote:
Snapchat allows private premium accounts in which users can monetize their content. This feature is mostly used by models to monetize their adult content.

Both OnlyFans and Premium Snapchat allow pornography on their platforms. This makes pornographic content easily accessible to subscribers or anyone else that uses these platforms. While we understand that many of Gaia's users are adults, pornographic content is not allowed on Gaia due to our user base being as young as 13 years of age. Inappropriate content is not allowed to be posted, requested, linked, shared, or otherwise provided to any member for any reason on Gaia Online. Due to the high risk of being provided with inappropriate content using OnlyFans or Premium Snapchat, regardless of inappropriate material is being directly provided/solicited or not, we are not allowing either service to be used on Gaia.

Going forward, no one will be allowed to engage in any of the following activities on Gaia Online:
    • Link directly to OnlyFans
    • Request links to another person's OnlyFans
    • Solicit subscribers for OnlyFans or Premium Snapchat
    • Provide or request OnlyFans or Premium Snapchat social media handles

Anyone found to be engaging in any of the above will be subject to applicable warnings and/or bans placed on their account. This is regardless of if inappropriate material is being provided/requested or not.

If not OnlyFans or Premium Snapchat, where can I post my content and share it on Gaia?
There are many, many options where you can host your work other than services that allow pornographic content. So long as your content adheres to Gaia's content guidelines, some great options are Patreon, Buy Me a Coffee, Cameo, YouTube, Twitch, Facebook, DeviantArt, or Instagram. Linking to other sites with paywalls to content will be moderated with our best discretion. Remember that any content that you link on Gaia must be Gaia-appropriate regardless of the host website's policies.

Clarifications and Reminders: The differences between artistic nudity and inappropriate material with specific application to art on Gaia Online.

The moderation team would like to take this opportunity to clarify several policies regarding art. While some members enjoy exchanging only tame pieces of art as a commission or as a freebie, we recognize that some members also enjoy creating or receiving more racy pieces. We recognize that Gaia has a large population of adults on the site, however, we would like to remind you that Gaia Online caters to users as young as 13 years old, and therefore, we have a duty to ensure that all content is suitable for audiences as young as 13 years old. We create and enforce our policies with this audience in mind. We also seek to balance the appropriateness of content with the least possible effect on our artists' creativity.

First, what is Artistic Nudity?
This term describes an image that contains a human figure that is, or is implied to be, nude, but is non-sexual in nature. These images cannot be posted on the site directly and have special requirements. All images considered to be artistic nudity must be linked with a clear warning that nudity lies on the other side of the link. They may not be posted in image tags or in spoilers tags.

Artistic nudity refers to images of subjects that have:
  • Bare breasts and/or genitals
  • Enhanced n****e or genital definition through clothing
  • Pubic hair on and around the genitals (does not include other body hair such as a "treasure trail")

Artistic nudity does not include the following, and all images described below are considered inappropriate:
  • Pornographic
  • Depicting subjects engaged in sex acts
  • Sexually exploiting a character that appears to be a child (such as lolicon/shotacon)
  • Gore
  • Described as NSFW, lewd, ecchi, futanari, or any other term used to describe adult/pornographic material
  • Overly sexual or graphic in nature**
  • Actively engaging in a BDSM/fetish scene such as being whipped or sexually gratified in some way
    • For example, being placed in bondage with a sexually charged facial expression
    • Does not include simply wearing leathers, gags, or restraints

**We acknowledge that "overly sexual/graphic" can be subjective from person to person. We would like to address as many common indicators as possible of a piece of art that would be classified as inappropriate by Gaia's standards.

If the intended art fits one or more of the below descriptions, it is not allowed:
      • Gratuitous over-emphasis of the genitals
      • Erections, bodily fluids on the genitals, or other indications of sexual arousal
      • Groping or fondling of breasts/genitals
      • Posed in a manner inviting sexual contact
      • Overly graphic, realistic, violent depictions of gory content
      • Shocking, disgusting, or otherwise considered reasonably uncomfortable to look at

Commissioning artistic nudity and the consequences of requesting/distributing inappropriate artwork:

When requesting or offering art where a subject would be nude, such as of a naked avatar, avoid using the term “NSFW" to refer to these images. That gives the wrong impression of what you are looking for, and you may be punished for requesting/providing an explicit commission, specifically a warning, potentially a ban, for inappropriate content. For example, if you’re looking for a piece of art that contains artistic nudity, be sure to state “looking for artistic nudity" as opposed to “looking for NSFW."

Transferring Gaia goods (such as currency, items, or accounts) in exchange for content or services disallowed by Gaia's Terms of Service is considered off-site trading, and is also not permitted. As a result, exchanging inappropriate artwork for Gaia goods can result in being warned, possibly banned, for both inappropriate content and off-site trading.

These consequences also extend to real-life commissions (RLC). Engaging in discussion of adult-themed commissions on Gaia is enough to warrant consequences as you are not allowed to request, post, distribute, or otherwise make available any inappropriate material on the site. We do not allow people to discuss RLC of any nature on Gaia Online, however directing people to an off-site platform to discuss commissions of inappropriate artwork, even if it's not being exchanged for Gaia Online goods, is also not permitted.

At the end of the day, please remember that members are ultimately responsible for what they choose to post.
If you are unsure that an image you are requesting or intending to post is not allowed by Gaia's rules, you are highly encouraged to contact a moderator for further clarification. Because of the subjectivity of art, what you may not consider offensive may be considered too sexual or graphic by Gaia's guidelines. In order to avoid a situation where your account may be penalized for posting or requesting inappropriate content, it is safer to check with a moderator prior to proceeding.

You are also responsible for ensuring that any content posted on off-site social media, art blog, gallery, or commission pages is Gaia-appropriate. You are providing other Gaia Online users access to the content on those pages by linking them, and if there is content behind those links that violates our Terms of Service, you will be warned, possibly banned, accordingly.

Clarifications and Reminders: Alpha/Beta/Omega (A/B/O) or "Omegaverse" roleplays are deemed inappropriate for Gaia Online and are not allowed.

The moderation team would like to take this opportunity to clarify our stance on Alpha/Beta/Omega (from here on referred to as "A/B/O") or "Omegaverse" roleplays. We recognize that Gaia has a large population of adults on the site. However, we would like to remind you that Gaia Online caters to users as young as 13 years old, and therefore, we have a duty to ensure that all content is suitable for audiences as young as 13. We create and enforce our policies with this audience in mind. We also seek to balance the appropriateness of content with the least possible effect on our community members' creative writing in roleplaying spaces.

First, what are A/B/O or "Omegaverse" roleplays?
These terms describe a subgenre of erotic (and often pornographic) roleplay that focuses on dominance hierarchies like those associated with certain animal species, such as wolves. However, unlike traditional wolf pack genres, characters in the Omegaverse have a "secondary gender" that gives a secondary set of romantic and sexual characteristics to the character. These characteristics include their own set of genitalia, physiology, and sexual behaviors. These roleplays often feature themes that lead to inappropriate sexual material, such as breeding, rutting, navigating heat cycles, scent marking, and other mating rites. This also may involve certain kinks associated with the Omegaverse, which include sexual exploitation.

Why are A/B/O or "Omegaverse" roleplays not allowed? What if I choose not to roleplay the explicit content, but keep the themes of A/B/O?
Unfortunately, because A/B/O is inherently centered around sexual constructs and characteristics and is a driving force in this genre, we are taking a firm stance against it. It is by nature an erotic subgenre of literature, and is therefore not allowed. It is too easy for a roleplay to cross the line into being inappropriate even without roleplaying heavily explicit themes. Users have never been allowed to roleplay explicit, erotic, or pornographic genres in the past, and we are defining A/B/O roleplays as erotic literature.

Does this mean we can no longer roleplay as wolf packs or other animal societies?
Roleplaying as wolf packs or other animals is still welcome on Gaia, provided the roleplay follows Gaia Online's site-wide content guidelines. A/B/O is a specific subgenre and has no effect on being able to roleplay as animals or animal-like creatures. While there is some crossover in themes and while there are inappropriate roleplays outside of Gaia within wolf pack roleplays, we recognize the inherent differences between the two.

Requesting A/B/O or "Omegaverse" roleplays going forward is not allowed.
Users may not post, request, link to, or otherwise make available inappropriate material, or any other material prohibited by the Terms of Service. If a person is found to be requesting, participating in, linking to, or recruiting for A/B/O roleplays, it is considered a Terms of Service violation. This includes if you are requesting off-site roleplay or roleplay in private messages as requesting inappropriate content is in itself a violation. Breaching the Terms of Service may result in warnings and/or bans being placed on any account in violation. If you are currently requesting or engaging in this genre of roleplay, we request that you cease immediately. If you have any questions about this policy or about any other rules on Gaia, we encourage you to reach out to a moderator for further clarification.
Rules & Guidelines for Posting in Chatterbox - Scams & Contests

Remember, anyone who says they need your password to give you something or for any other reason is trying to scam you and gain access to your account. The following information is intended to help you avoid being scammed and what to avoid when creating or joining contests:

  • Creating a thread which makes false claims that users will get gold and/or items for posting a certain number of times is a bannable offense. This includes fake giveaway threads with misleading titles or white text in the post saying that it is just a joke. You do not get more gold than normal for bumping in these threads and trunks and giftboxes are random events that happen...randomly.

  • Be aware that offers of free gold or items are often scams, especially when they involve a relatively new account which is offering up rare and expensive items.

  • Any user who offers you free items/gold by linking to a site which asks for your password or security questions is SCAMMING.

  • Another scamming attempt includes users making a FAKE Gaia Login page. It looks exactly like Gaia but please be aware that the address (URL) will not be gaiaonline.com. If you come to a page that does not have gaiaonline.com in the address, do NOT login and report the link to a mod along with any information you have about who and how it is being distributed.

  • The admins and staff of Gaia will never ask for your password. Ever. The only emails you will ever receive from Gaia are those sent for the purpose of occasional announcements, registration, and banning (and always after the fact). These will never ask for your password. Do not respond to any emails or instant messages via chat programs that ask for your password or answers to ANY of your security questions.

  • Highest donator contests and variations of it are prohibited. These contests involve the promise of an item to the person giving the highest amount of donations.
    • Giveaway threads that claim donating more will increase your chances of winning are considered variants of this type of contest and not allowed.

  • Please be aware that while advertising avatar arena entires is permitted, buying votes is not.
    • This includes- but is not limited to- creating a thread to advertise your entry and having a bumping or any other type of contest in the same thread.

  • Mislabeled contest entry fees cannot be taken as donations and threats to do so are not allowed. It is fine to request that a trade with the entry fee is somehow labeled so that you know what it is for (useful if you are running multiple auctions/charities/lotteries). However, refusing the person entry and instead taking the trade as a donation because it is not labeled a particular way is not allowed, as it is exploiting users to gain gold.
    • If you accidentally mistake an entry fee and discover that it wasn't a donation, you still need enter them into the contest or refund the fee. The essence of the rule is that you cannot enforce trade labeling by mentioning the potential of taking a trade as a donation (accidental or intentional).

  • Gaia has a free market, however, using temporary extreme inflations of prices of low-value items in order to trade for high-value items is considered a scam. Users are free to make such trades or price items at whatever value they want. However, it becomes a scam when one party presents inaccurate information to convince someone to make the exchange.
Rules & Guidelines for Posting in Chatterbox - Spam Violations

  • Stretching the forum pages using excessive amounts of unnecessary text, text that contains no spaces, or large images is disruptive to the flow of the forum/conversation and is thus a violation of the Terms of Service of Gaia.

  • An example of this rule includes 14/28 Gold Bumps. There are several versions of this kind of post, and all have the same general premise: that by copying and pasting a long message, you will get more gold than normal. You do not get more gold for longer posts.

  • Other examples include excessively and unnecessarily repeating a word or phrase such as "bump" many times in one post, posting long song lyrics for no particular reason, posting images that are excessively large (either resize the image or use a link to the image), etc.

  • Distribution of chainletters is prohibited on the forums, in PMs, and anywhere else on Gaia.
    • Many chainletters resemble something else such as a petition or warning message and sometimes even say "this is not a chainletter" on them.
    • Other chainletters claim to be from the admins and sometimes make threats about banning people if they don't send it on. The admins can use stickies and the Announcement forum to disperse information and will not use chainletters (something they have prohibited) to do it.
    • Just remember any message that asks or encourages you to repost/resend indiscriminately to other users can be considered a chainletter.

  • Please report any threads that ask personal questions such as address, phone number, email address, or any questions related to security questions.

  • Do not reply to these threads. However, threads that do not ask such questions and only ask harmless or neutral questions (favorite color, video game, etc) are allowed.
Rules & Guidelines for Posting in Chatterbox - Flaming/Abuse/Trolling

  • Any posts containing flaming, racial slurs, verbal abuse, etc. directed at a user or comments made with the purpose of provoking anger (trolling) are against the ToS.

  • Posting any content (images, links, etc) that encourages other users to harm or kill themselves, even in a joking manner, can be considered abusive. In cases where a user has posted about their intent to commit suicide or harm themselves, any encouragement at all will lead to a warning or even a banning.

  • When another user starts to abuse or harass you, there is a wonderful feature to help you out before you even have to resort to filling out a form. It's called the Ignore feature and surprisingly, many users are unaware of exactly what it does.
Once you have added a user to your ignore list, the following things will happen:
    • They will not be able to PM you
    • They will not be able to post in any thread that you created.
    • They will not be able to comment in your profile.
    • They will not be able to start trades with you.

Often this simple step stops the harassment right at the beginning and prevents it from escalating any further. If the user continues to harass you after being placed on ignore, then you should report them through the proper channels.

  • Many thread creators have a list of posted rules at the beginning of the thread. Please attempt to respect these rules even if what you are doing is not a violation of Gaia's rules.

  • If you make your own thread rules that are not reflected in Gaia's rules, then you or your clearly designated agents (commonly called "thread mods" or "thread staff") have to enforce them on your own.
    • In the Chatterbox thread creators have the ability to delete any post in threads they create (and not just their own posts).
    • Thread creators can use the Ignorelist feature to prevent a user from making further posts in a thread.
    • You can also set up a blacklist - this allows designated agents to disallow users from staying in the thread.

  • After being clearly asked to leave a thread by thread creator or designated agents for any reason, a user should stop posting in the thread or face the possibility of violating Gaia's rules regarding harassment.

  • When reporting this kind of harassment (ie. if the user continues to post), you need to include a link to where the user was asked to leave the thread by the thread creator or their clearly designated agents.
    • Do not be rude when telling users to leave. Just clearly tell them to leave the thread.
    • Make sure the post telling someone to leave is clearly directed at the intended user. This can be done by quoting their post or including their full username in the message.
    • When blacklisting, include a link on the blacklist to the post where the user is informed they are being blacklisted.
    • If you are not the thread creator or their clearly designated agent, then telling someone to leave will not hold any weight. (Yes. Even if you are a "regular".) However, you can still report them if they are violating Gaia's rules.
    • By "clearly designated agent", we mean that they are listed prominently in the thread's introductory posts as having the ability to enforce the thread's rules.

    • For more details on what is considered abusive content you can check out the blog post here.

Report Hacking, Scamming or Abuse & Harassment?

The Hacking, Scamming and Abuse or Harassment report forms can be found at the bottom of the forum index. When submitting a report, ensure that you fill out all fields and include as much relevant information as possible.

    Report A Hacking
Use this form to report a Hacking. Hacking, on Gaia Online, refers to the unauthorized access of an account by someone other than the account owner. In most typical hacking cases, an unauthorized person enters an account which does not belong to him or her and takes items or gold from the account, often changing the account information so that the original owner can no longer access his or her account.

    Report A Scamming
Use this form to report a Scamming. Scamming is when another member of Gaia takes your gold or items, or tries to take your gold or items, by making false promises of giving you rare items, get-rich-quick schemes, or by any other deceptive means. Scamming generally involves a situation in which two members of Gaia make an arrangement to trade gold, items, or a Gaia approved service (e.g. avatar art commission) with each other and then one of the parties involved in the arrangement fails to live up to his or her promise of an exchange.
