it is bad, but not because of your tendency to dislike excessively harsh music

it is bad because it is gimmicky as ******** and lacks direction

i'm tempted to disagree that i like excessively harsh music, but i'm not 100% sure if that's entirely false. i do like dissonant and abrasive music (i'd consider Lightning Bolt to be really abrasive) but that's an argument for some other time, i think.

as for bone awl, the excessive harshness pretty much is the gimmick to me. i immediately see a bad that produces it's music as such for no other reason than to be as anti-mainstream as possible. and i don't mean the pop culture mainstream, i mean the anti-mainstream mainstream. the mainstream within the mainstream that rebels against the mainstream in such a way that it has become a mainstream in and of itself.

but that's pretty hasty and judgmental. my bad.
