Whether through upbringing or personal revelations, people may come to believe any number of things, many of which is outright garbage, but also many concepts - whether theist or atheist - that can be fundamentally useful to a human trying to live a good (and meaningful) life. I'm not an atheist, but I've seen many things in science that would blow anybody's mind. You don't have to be religious to be awestruck by the universe. |

Because arguments towards the existance of a God hasn't been able to convince me. An extremely large proportion of them tend to be geared towards the simple-minded and rely heavily on common sense, which isn't reliable at all. One example of the unreliability of common sence would be the argument of cutting the block of gold in half indefinitely. Common sense tells us that it's possible, but the material world is so much more complex. Once you get down to a single fundamental particle or molecule, in this case the gold atom, you can't go further.
Arguments from Design, the Argument from Creation, Mind and Body... they haven't convinced me that a god exist. Much less the christian god. I say, if there isn't any viable evidence for his existence, it's much more likely that he doesn't exist. This is due to the fact that no evidence is what you'd expect to find if there wasn't any, compared to if there actually was. As an end note: even if we were to prove a god exists, you have all of your work still ahead of you. You'd then have to prove its your Christian version as opposed to Shiva, Wotan, Apollo, Ra, or even Quetzacoatl. |

out of the 100 people still living in my immediate family, my uncle and i are the only two NOT to get confirmed. he's an atheist, i'm between religions, trying to find a good one that can make sense. though i think for some S&G i'm just gonna roll with pastafarianism or discordianism for a while

Alexander J Luthor out of the 100 people still living in my immediate family, my uncle and i are the only two NOT to get confirmed. he's an atheist, i'm between religions, trying to find a good one that can make sense. though i think for some S&G i'm just gonna roll with pastafarianism or discordianism for a while I say a drunken spaghetti monster is a much better explaination for the unintelligence of design than the ID movement, ironically enough, has to offer. I mean, anybody who's studied animal science will notice that, in order to get a full nutrition, a bunny has to eat, defacate, and eat that primary fecal matter before defacating for a final time. This is because the digestive system is made in a way that it doesn't extract the full nutrition value the first time around. Hell, SPM would have done it for the sheer lol factor. |

well, most atheists believe that God is some floating man on a cloud
some believe that religion is the cause for all wars some believe that you shoud be able to find physical evidence of a omipotent, transcendant, "being" (if you can even call it that) they also believe that everyone that isnt atheist is christian, apparently. overall they are an unlikeable group of hypocrites that are only worse than the people they hate |

could not tell you, but then again, I could care less, what they believe is up too them, I can't stop them from believing what they want, besides, it's a free country is it not?
