~blinks~ ...

I find that hard to believe. ^^

Yeah, I have a hard time describing the environment and physical appearance. I do best at emotional state of mind and dialogue.

^^ I believe you do a wonderful job at it.

Oh, guess what! I won a writing contest on here!

Really? You did?

Yeah, I was really surprised. I had entered it a long time ago and had totally forgotten about it. But I got a trade request toda... yesterday and it said to look at the last post of this one thread for information, and I saw that it was a writing contest. O.o I was really surprised because it was a short story type thing that took me 20 minutes or less to write while going on three days sleep deprivation.

That's really awesome. How much did you win for it?

I don't know, not many people entered so I think only a thousand, but hey, I was happy, I got first place! ^^

No it isn't gonk . You see Sokka as purely comic relief when he isn't. A character like Sokka would lighten up the intensity that is Azula. I don't see why it is so wierd but Ty Lee and Azula is acceptable to you.

Sokka comes across as an idiot most of the time. Ty Lee is more of an airhead. There's a difference. Sokka seems just a bit cruder.

Do you have any good examples of Azuxsokka? If you've got a good fanfic to recommend with that pairing, I'll willingly read it just to see if Azuxsokka really isn't that bad. (Although I still think it is)

I wrote a small drabble that I could post redface

Ok, go for it!

Ok I will...as soon as I find the jump drive thing that it is on which has chosen this of all moments to disappear on me again stare

(My little sister is awesome. She managed to find my jumpdrive so now I can post my Sokkla drabble. This was written not too long after the Day of the Black Sun episodes so there is an inaccuracy in the mental state of Suki but it is still good...or at least it is in my opinion redface )

Several hours had gone by since the failed invasion attempt and the beast had soared off from view, but Azula could still feel the earthen shackles scraping against her wrists and the sensation of his breath raking across her skin.

“Where is Suki?!” he had snarled, cobalt eyes consumed with a fire she had not before seen.

No one had ever looked at her in such a way. Those who knew her power all looked at her the same, eyes brimming wide with terror and awe of what she might do. None of them save her father alone had ever been able to look her straight in the eye and even he, she suspected, was at least a little afraid. Of course, they all had reason to be. At any moment of her choosing, they could lose everything. Their most precious possessions could vanish in the blink of an eye with a mere flick of her wrist. Not even their mind was safe from her. With her silvery tongue, she could bring to the surface all the dark, selfish thoughts and desires people struggled to keep buried. She could sow such seeds of doubt within the human soul that even the strongest bonds of friendship and kinship could be broken.

No one was immune from the spell she cast. They were all pawns to be played in her chess game that were to be discarded whenever she no longer had a use for them. She never could have imagined a day would come when someone would look at her without an ounce of fear and that she would actually like it. She should have seen this coming. The Kyoshi warrior had held up against the harshest of tortures within the Fire Nation’s arsenal on the hope alone that this man, this Sokka, would come to rescue her. Eventually, of course, the princess won out but even so, he had to be something special for the girl to have put up such a fight.

Azula could not put it to rest. What was it about this boy that could have inspired such loyalty? She needed to know. She considered going down to the prison where the Kyoshi girl had been locked away but she doubted it would prove fruitful. The girl was little more than an animal now, greedily devouring her food and killing the rats that found a way into her cell. She did not remember the name Sokka anymore much less her own. The princess would have to wait until they met up again and Azula did not like waiting.

... ... *blink*

Woah. That was... unexpected. A real eye-opener for me. I am humbled, Katara. *bows* AzulaxSokka isn't quite that bad after all... although I'm still cringing slightly reflexively. Its... interesting. Not exactly how I'd have written Azula, but its still believably Azula. You're a fantastic writer Katara!

Is there a perfectionist who isn't a control freak? I don't think it's possible. If you want things perfect you have to be hyper controlling.

Some people just need themselves to be perfect. They don't necessarily need to control the people around them.

I don't know such a person who is like that but that neither here nor there. The point is Sokkla doesn't look so flipping insane to you anymore and that's good that I was able to accomplish that somehow. Although quite honest my friend who converted me to the pairing is really even better than I am. I actually used to hate Sokkla and think Azula was totally irredeemably evil.

Wow. From hating Sokkla to actually embracing it? Your friend must be pretty good... although somehow, I have the feeling you were more concerned over the Sokka side of the matter, right?

I'm glad you're able to see a little more deeply into Azula now, thanks to your friend. I dislike one-dimensional portrayals of her... they totally turn me off. Its just... when you get such a complex character like Azula... it seems practically a sin not to do them justice.
