Maybe it's just because I'm really out of it right now... but it seems like Gaia isn't giving me the option to join a side...

From what I can tell, they seem to be letting a certain number of people join at a time. I'm sure you will be able to play eventually.

I was able to choose a side by clicking Cara's "follow" link. I've chosen BOO. As soon as they have the event back up, I'll post a follow link of my own.
