no im not going i hate vets the put animals to sleep and its wrong
mad
=/ this is awful. If you had a sick animal that couldn't be helped, eventually die, suffer all the way to their death, and probably feel helpless and scared, you wouldn't put it to sleep?
Euthanization is painless. The animal just falls asleep. It's sad, yes. I cried for long time when my dog when I was little was put down, but even at 4 years old, I knew it was for the best. My dog had gotten kicked by a cow and had severe spinal injuries. Our vet said that they could save her, but she would be paralyzed. It was have her not be able to do anything, or let her rest.
If you think Euthanization is terrible then you must think my parents are monsters. When my rabbit fell out of her hutch one night, broke her back legs, couldn't move, and was viciously attacked by some neighborhood dogs. she was in a LOT of pain and couldn't move. It was 3 in the morning. We called our vet, they couldn't come out until later in the day, and we didn't have a 24 hour emergency vet. Should we have let her suffer and bleed out in pain? My dad shot her. No, it's not the most humane method of putting down an animal, but our only other options were a hammer to the back of the skull (if done correctly can kill in one blow, or if miscalculated can cause even more pain), or break her neck. Painful but instantaneous.
There was no other option to us. We're sure she didn't even feel it. 12 gauge to the back of the head.
Yes, I cried. Yes, I was upset. I blamed myself for her falling out even though her hutch was closed and locked. I don't know how she got out, but she did.
But it was best for her.
I can't stand people who think that vet's are heartless for euthanizing pets. I've seen many vets cry when they did it. They cried with the family. But they made a promise to help the animals in any way necessary. Sometimes it is.
