I have a question i have a elderly german shepard(13yrs) who i love heart and recently we adpoted a rescue black lab(3yrs)... well the problem is they are both male and very terrorital . i tried keeping them in seperate areas but they escape to try to attack each other ( mostly the black lab) my local vet told me to put their sleeping crates next to each other and let them "bark it out" but it didnt seem to fix the problem only made it worse... my elderly dog could be killed if i dont find a way to fix this problem. crying please help if you can xd

You should neuter them. This usually eases their territorial problems. If you have, then maybe you should consult an animal communicator and they will help you solve the conflict between them. Google Animal Communicators. :3 They can communicate with animals through long distance so don't worry about paying for the flight over there. ;D My friend has done this before concerning a problem with her dog and her cat. Turns out the dog wanted the cat's mouse thing but that cat was really selfish about her things. The animal communicator eased the conflict and now they are best friends. (:

My turtle is stupid and keeps trying to eat things that arn`t food, even though there`s food available to him.

The thing that is not food in question is a turtle dock. D:

I need to keep it in until I can find a piece of wood that isn`t treated with chemicals and that`s large enough for him to give him a place to get out of the water, so what should I do in the mean time?

You like zombies? Well so do I! Make me art with my avi and my own personal zombie, David!
His pictures are above and below the text, so you really have no excuse not too! Also in journal lolz.
I tip well, so give it a shot... If not David might eat you...
Art received with David that is now sitting pretty in my journal: 19/25.
People who want to hug David: 25
PM me if you want to hug him. >w<
Btw, I drew the pictures, so please don`t steal them.

The issue is separation anxiety.

This helps.
I also suggest you crate him when you are away, it not as bad as it sounds, I promise. I even use this method on my three hell-raisers.

I have a behaviour question.

I have a cat that is about 10 years old. Over the last couple of years he has gotten to the point where we don't want to pet him because he chomps down on our hands. He will lie on the back of the couch near us and purr but if we touch him he bites. Is this just because he's become a cranky old man or is this something I should be concerned about?

Also... thanks for this thread, I think it's pretty much awesome!

What do I do?

I'm not a vet but Xana always advises everyone to do the same thing. If you animal is being aggressive (for real or play), act like they hurt you. When she attacks you, yelp and act like she's wounded you majorly. This should stop the behavior.

I do that, but then my aunt gets upset at me for acting like I'm hurt. She then starts giving the dog attention.

Your aunt is rewarding the bad behavior. Afterwards you should completely shun the dog until it comes up to you in a submissive state.

Hello again, I have another question about my cat. She chews through wires and we've tried many things to get her to stop, but nothing works so far. We've tried electrical tape(she starts to chew other wires that don't have the tape) and we've put a spray or something on the wires that are supposed to make them taste spicey, but that hasn't worked either. Any suggestions?

The vet I go to said that she might get electrocuted...and I don't want that to happen D:
Wish that I had other choices
Than to harm the one I love

This is a really tough one. My cats chew cords too. You have no idea how many cell phone charges I have had to buy. Ask your vet for some atropine ointment to put on the cords. That tastes really bad. They do make cord keepers that wrap up the loose cords. Hope this helps.

I know what you mean, I've gone through many video game controllers : o Okay, I will ask for that. Thanks! And I will look for those as well :3 Thanks a bunch

Good morning ladies. I am sure that you are busy, what with being on the front page of gaia, but i do have a question. I have a 2 month (almost 3 now)Doberman puppy and she seems to have what appear to be pimples all over her head and other spots on her body. She had them when we went to pick her up, and I'm not sure what causes it, or how to get rid of them. (they do not puss much, then afterward proceed to bleed and scab over) When we got her she was an outside puppy with her other litter mates, and she still gets them (we also have a bigger Doberman who plays with her on an hourly basis) now that she is with us.
I have given her several baths since we got her, and it seems to make some of them go away, but not by much. Any idea what might cause these break outs and how to treat properly?
(Responce in PM would be preferred since I get on briefly then go off to school)
Hello, I don't know if this is really something I should be concerned about, or happy about, but it strikes me as odd, we have a fairly young kidney failure cat, who pulls so many miracle recoveries every time our doctors says she will be dead within a few weeks, she is then alive and well for the next few years, and her levels are awesome, though, the thing that sorta strikes me as odd, from the time she was born, she has never been playful. Yet this past week, she has suddenly been going crazy, acting like there is catnip around the house that she is getting high off of, chasing little invisible nothings.....but there is no known reason for it. Should I be worried? Or is this a good sign.......?
I'm pretty worried about my dog Kashi. She's almost a year old. We rescued her from a shelter when she was about six months. She wasn't a aggressive then.

After... maybe the first two months, she started nipping at us, barking loudly, and staring us in the eye. I tried becoming a dominate, by picking her up, and putting her back down lightly, but she just again, squirms and tries to bite me. She's a husky/Norwegian Elk Hound mix.

Is this just puppy play?
