Welcome to Gaia! ::

Hi there. Um. My cat is 7 years old being a female cat her going in heat is rather annoying. I know it's probably annoying to her as well. She sprays one spot in my room and.or everything near it while in heat. My sister-in-law said that my cat is too old to have her fixed because she would most likely not come out from under anesthesia. Is this true?

is there anything i can feed my dog to kill internal parasites?

I have heard that crushed Garlic in their food works - but you can't be sure that they will work for the specific Parisite your dog has

If it is round worm - they sell a dewormer at the pet store, unfortunatily it isnt usually the best medicine

The best move to make, I have found with all of our family dogs and cats is to get the dewormer from the vet a dewormer shot for both round and tape worms is the most effective control method that I know of and the preventative methods are to use Advantage on a monthly Basis and have FleaBusters powder your Carpets.

you have to use the preventative methods to avoid re-infection - because your dog can end up with worms again a week after ya get it treated if ya dont.

Hope that helps

Around what age is it healthy to take puppies away from their mother? Recently my father brought in two chihuahua puppies (both the same age - approx 1 month). When I told my older sister about them and their age, she freaked! Telling me that they were too young and whatnot and suggested they take Nutri-Cal. She has two chihuahuas of her own so I figured she knows what she's talking about since her dogs are in great condition and very well behaved.

I'll give them the extra nutrition and stuff when me and my sis go to the pet store soon and get them treatment for worms and vaccines. But will they be alright? Will being only one month old and already away from their mom jeopardize their health? Especially since one of them is the runt of the litter.

Actually I do have a question. This might sound silly but really I'm serious. My 2 year old fed my bunny goldfish crackers a few hours ago. I don't know how many or if he ate any before I caught her (it wasn't more than a couple of 2 year old handfuls in his cage).
Will this make him sick? Is there anything I can do? 4laugh

This is the fourth time I am reporting you, Nizzyh. That post you just copied and pasted was from someone else. Do not waste her time! Or page space!

Hi, this is a great forum and the Gaia community should appreciate what you do here.
I have a question.
I have a Yorkie Terrier, he's about a year old and between 5 and 6 pounds, he's a mini ((not a teacup)). The problem is that he's a VERY picky eater. We've switched foods quite a few times but he won't eat them! So to make sure he does eat we'll give him chicken or steak. But we wanted him so have structured meals and the only thing he'll eat is human food or cat food. So we've been giving him cat food twice a day along with hard dog food which he'll occasionally eat. We've tried Eukanuba, Pro Pac, Iams, Beniful, Chef Michael's and Purina with no luck. Any suggestions?

It's funny; the thought was actually crossing my mind to look for a thread like this tonight.

I have a question about my cat actually. She's usually pretty much to herself most of the time (except in those few instances where she wants attention), but ever since yesterday she won't do anything but follow me around and mew insistently, like way more than usual. She will also do nothing but try to sit in my lap all day (which is unusual for her) and when I laid down she laid beside me all night, which is also quite unusual. She's also scarcely touched her bowl much today; she did eat and drink a little, but only when I was over there with her. She also keeps crawling into my face when I'm talking, standing on her hind legs. This is also behavior I haven't seen her do before.

Even now she's just sitting in my lap, staring up and me and mewing. I have no idea whether she's trying to tell me something or not. Do you think I should go to a vet?

Hey,

I'm 14 years old and going into 10 grade, I live in New York, and I'm obsessed with horses (I do love all animals though). My dream job is to be a veterinarian, mostly specializing in large animals. I was wondering, what colleges would you recommend around the area, I originally wanted to go to Cornell, but it is way to expensive then our family can afford I need a good college thats affordable. :/

I have a huge problem, literally. My cat is fat, and very very very lazy. She sleeps at least most of the day. Anyway I can motivate my Koko?

Try a laser pointer.
There are also food toys that can be used to make her play with them if she wants her food.
Also try putting her food up on something so she has to jump to get to it.

Check the Indoor Cat Initiative from OSU for more!.

hi i was wondering my puppy ate a chicken bone by accident... ummm can they poop it out??? or will she get hurt..thanks

It is very variable. Sometimes they pass or are digested; sometimes they cause a problem. If she is vomiting or not eating, she needs to go to the vet for x-rays.

I hope she is ok
