I think Vampire Knight also has extra angst. And the 'Jacob' of the story is rather Zuko-ish. Also, there's whole lot of backstory and hidden history and undercurrents of character relationships.
Yeah, Zero was the only character that I was actually interested in. That Kaname guy though I can't stand. I think my level of loathing for him is on Mai level. That's really hard to achieve. I do not hate too many characters as much as I hate her.
Whereas I... tend to only hate truly scumbag characters. Do you know Samurai X? If you recall, the final villain of that series is this rich, fat man wearing yellow robes who is, frustratingly enough, *also* really good at fighting for some reason. He was an arrogant glutton and a miserable, treacherous coward. I... would have *really* enjoyed hearing him scream and scream and scream...
Honestly, I don't even remember his name now, just the fact that I seriously hated him. No, forget hate. I
loathed that guy. He was all high and mighty and arrogant with Kenshin at first, actually almost beat Kenshin a couple of times, and then when Kenshin finally managed to defeat him, he turned into a pathetic, blubbering mess begging for his life. And when Kenshin spares him, he smirks and tries to stab Kenshin in the back. Filthy coward.
