Isn't Transhumanist a fancy way of saying 'I believe my mind should be transferred to something else so I don't stop existing?'

No.

That is one idea that is important to many transhumanists, but most other religions have a similar tenet - my soul will go to heaven, I'll be reincarnated, that sort of thing. I wouldn't say Hinduism is a fancy way of saying 'I'll be reincarnated' or Christianity is a fancy way of saying 'I believe I'll go to heaven when I die'. If you would, then sure, but I wouldn't agree.
you know what? You're correct. I meant PHYSICALLY transferred. As in surgery, download, transplant, etc. I did not intebd to mean spirit/soul/heaven type things. It was more for cyborg/android/life-extension methods.

I apologize.

You're right to think there is a relation. It's that same fear of oblivion that drives the life-extension community; it's just more practical (physical) rather than relying on fantasy (imo). But life extension is only a small part of what transhumanism is about.
