How come? I think "Ask a..." threads are explicit that they are one person's point of view. It relaxes the pressure on both sides to try to find a final answer about a religion, and instead invites curiosity about personal beliefs and practices in the context of a faith tradition.
It gets old. It gets frustrating. At times it seems like it fuels the sense of entitlement in others and you can't explain stuff to people that have no point of reference. There's this chick I know, and I'm explaining what it is like to be part of a culture that isn't about "Me/I" before "We". It took that to realize that I might as well have been speaking Greek the whole time for many folks.
But then, I'd rather not be the center of attention anyway.
