Usagi Drop (Holly s**t, loved it)
Ergo Proxy (Amazing, ending could have been better though)
FLCL (Classic s**t my *****)
Elfen Lied (Great)

and some movies:
All of Ghibli's stuff; recently Princess Mononoke and Nausicaa
5 Centimeters per Second

I am half way through Wolf's Rain and Serial Experiments Lain
Im liking both so far.

I used to be an avid AS watcher about four years ago, so it would make sense.

I suggest, when looking for Ghost in the Shell that you watch the movies though.

I was also a fan of Eureka Seven, but it seems a bit too pretty.
Also Hellsing. I don't know why I didn't think of that.
Hellsing Ultimate is similar, but in my opinion, not as good.
