My boyfriend, after I got him re-addicted to Gaia, started mentioning Watermeats just randomly in jokes & stuff lol. We were coming home one night from a party with friends, and he sees a Pet Shop and goes, "OMG, they better ******** sell Watermeats!"

Not so much funny, but I was all like "Shhhh! No one must know of our geekiness!" and we had a private laugh, haha.

I've never actually made a Gaia reference in RL. However, my friends and I make Avatar (The Last Airbender, not Gaia avatar) references all the time, so I understand the feeling.

After I had my surgery for appendicitis last year, I was laying groggily in my hospital bed.
My fiance and best friend had bought me some presents, including a white seal plushie.
They were talking about how it looked like a "gimp" because of how one of its eyebrows was caved in a little.
I immediately yelled, "Gimpi!" in my state of delirium. They loved the word and we named the seal Gimpi.
To this day, I don't think they realize the name is a Gaia reference...

I think there are actually a lot of people around us that play Gaia, but so many of them spend their times in crap forums like the Chatterbox, and have no idea about the plot/characters/anything of Gaia.

Just recently I commented on this fellow's picture in his profile, saying it reminded me of Brennivin's. He had never heard of Brennivin.
