Depression is a real soul-sucker. I've had more than my fair share of that, so I feel your pain.

I have a photo that might cheer you up, though. It's from a troop I did last week, which was the first time I did an event in costume since my problem with my back started. Here you go (I think the sign is funny, but not many people got the joke. Hopefully it will make you smile):

Yeah, I donate to Toys For Tots every year. I try to get at least two toys every year, too. This year I gave night vision goggles, a Darth Vader lightsaber, and a Nerf Rebelle (aimed at girls) bow with foam darts.

If you go to Toys R Us, they have a whole section along the front of the store with toys for under five dollars. You can also get good toys at the discount stores Ross and Tuesday Morning. Hope that helps.
