* THE Charity Show Game will run August 22 - 25, 2008. DO NOT START EARLY.

* You must have a ticket to win a prize. Tickets are 400g. Simply start a trade with me with "ticket" somewhere in the title. All ticket holders may play, including mules, but each must PM me their answer.

* Each Participating Charity has posted a banner linked to this event on their first page. Near the banner is a text description of something to enter into THE Charity Show to represent that charity at THE Fair.

* Use the "Participating Charities" form in the next post to keep track of which item each charity is "showing." I'm not worried about every word being perfect, but they must be listed with their charities. Please only use up to 4 words for each charity to describe what they are showing so I can see quickly that you have the right answers.

* PM me, THE Santa Claus, with the completed form. Please do not post the completed form anywhere.

* Each winner will get a small prize. ONE winner will get THE Grand Prize of October 05 Thank You Letter containing Coco Kitty Plushie or Wind Security Blanket!

...Post 4: THE Midway: Logic Puzzles!

To be eligible to win a July 07 Thank You Letter containing Fire Flower, Enchanted Strings or Mecha Form, you must buy a ticket to this event (only 400g) and solve at least one of the Logic Puzzles below. Each Clever Elf who solves at least one of the Logic Puzzle Games will get a worthless prize, but one random Clever Elf will get a July 07 Thank You Letter containing Fire Flower, Enchanted Strings or Mecha Form! I choose random Clever Elves by giving each one a number for each puzzle solved and then using Random Number to pick a number randomly to win. Each logic puzzle will get progressively harder. You may PM me about them as often as you like. This is not "first answer = only answer" situation. I definitely believe in second (and third and so on) chances! Each person may only win one prize (including mules). Please keep your answers in the order given in the introduction. I would like to thank Everett Kaser who designed the game Sherlock, upon which all these puzzles were based.

First Logic Puzzle

Three elves entered fantastic flowers into the show. Find out which elf grew which flower in which color pot, and the order in which they placed in the show.

The flowers grown in the Green pot won 2nd place. Maybe they were Irises, maybe not.
The Roses were either grown by Sarah OR grown in the Yellow pot, not both.
Crystal's flowers (not Anne's) placed between the Roses and the Red pot.
The Orchids were judged to be better than the flowers in the Green pot.

Second Logic Puzzle

Four elves entered a pie-eating contest. Tell the order in which the elves sat left to right, and which elf ate which pie, won which color ribbon, wearing what to hold their hands back.

Dan, not Becky, wore a Bandana to hold his hands back.
Glen sat next to the Blue ribbon winner.
The Gold ribbon went to the elf who ate the Pumpkin pie.
The elf wearing String to hold their hands back sat somewhere to the left of the Peach pie-eater.
Glen won the Silver ribbon while wearing String, not Yarn.
Dan sat next to the Pumpkin pie-eater.
The Red ribbon went to Dan who ate the Peach pie, not the Cherry pie.
The elf wearing String sat between the Peach pie-eater and Rosa
The elf who ate Apple pie had hands held with String.
Glen sat next to the elf with Lace to hold the hands back.

Third Logic Puzzle

Five elves sat down to play cards. Starting with the empty sixth seat, tell the order in which the elves sat clockwise around the table. I should mention they did not use a standard deck, but one with five suits: the fifth suit is Stars. Each elf held one card, and wore a different colored hat. Tell what snack each elf ate or drank, what card each held (number and suit) and what colorhis or her hat was.

The elf eating Nuts for a snack sat next to the elf drinking Water.
Minnie sat next to the elf who's healthy snack was Water.
The elf holding the Ace sat clockwise somewhere after the elf drinking Water.
Don held the Ace, not the King.
Don ate Chips and wore a Teal hat, not a Yellow hat.
The elf eating Chips sat next to the elf holding the Eight.
The elf holding the Diamond sat between the elf holding the Heart and the one eating Chips.
The elf in the Teal hat sat between the elf wearing the Blue hat and the elf holding the Two.
The elf in the Purple hat held the Four of Clubs, not Spades.
The elf holding a Star card sat next to the elf wearing the Purple hat.
Becky's hat was red.
The elf holding the Eight sat clockwise somewhere after the elf in the Red hat.
Flo's snack was Tea, not Soda.
Bob sat next to the elf drinking Tea.
Bob held either a Diamond or an Ace, but not the Ace of Diamonds.

Fourth Puzzle

This puzzle is a bit different: a Seek-And-Find puzzle using Gaia's World map. In and around Aekea find:
1 - the color of the round sign above the word "CARS" on the car shop
2 - a math shape on the roof of the Housing Commission
3 - the shop that is outside the wall around Aekea
4 - the bigger structure in Aekea West (you must GO west)
5 - who owns the shop north of the Car Shop and west of the Housing Commission
6 - the number of chimneys billowing smoke

Fifth Puzzle

Hidden in and around Durem:
1. The shop furthest from the Clock Tower
2. Who owns the shop closest to the East gate
3. Where the West gate leads
4. Shape on the roof of the Tattoo Parlor
5. Time shown on the Clock Tower (it's always the same)
6. How to get to Halloween Town from Durem
7. The color of the roof of Moira's shop
8. The number of gates out of Durem
9. The direction of the Von Helson Manor from Durem

Sixth Puzzle

Six elves entered their animals into the Great Animal Race! In which order did which Elf enter which Animal raised on which Farm wearing which Flowers and which Feathers and won which Color ribbons? These answers MUST be in that order, please!

Angelica was one of the elves in the race.
The animal wearing Hawk feathers entered next to the animal wearing Bluebird feathers.
The animal from Apple Orchard Farm wore Carnations.
Sally entered her animal next to the one which won the Gold ribbon.
Grace's animal wore Oriole feathers and Tulips, not Daisies.
The animal wearing Roses entered next to the animal from Purple Paddock Farm.
There was an entry between the animal wearing Dove feathers and the animal that won a Pink ribbon,
-- but that middle animal did NOT come from Life Lemons Farm.
Mei entered some time after the Cow.
Parrot feathers decorated the Bull, not the Elephant.
Sally entered some time before the animal from Life Lemons Farm.
The animal wearing Roses was between the Horse and the one that won the Red ribbon.
The animal from Life Lemons Farm wore Bluebird feathers and won a Blue ribbon.
The Bull entered next to the animal from Box Berry Farm.
Honey's animal won the Red ribbon, not the Green ribbon.
Dove feathers were between Parrot feathers and Oriole feathers.
The animal from Box Berry Farm wore a Cardinal feather.
Jasmine's animal came from Snake River Farm, not Pale Moon Farm.
The Bull came between Mei and the animal wearing Daffodils.
The Silver ribbon winner wore Lilies.
The animal wearing Tulips came between Mei and the one from Apple Orchard Farm.
The Tiger came next to the animal that won the Blue ribbon.
Sally came some time after the animal wearing the Cardinal feather.
There was an entry between the Kangaroo and the animal that won the Blue ribbon,
-- but that middle animal did NOT win the Silver ribbon.

Seventh Puzzle

Hidden in Isle De Gambino
1. Symbol on the Bank
2. Four shapes on the pavement around the Marketplace
3. In which direction the oasis lies (next to Gold Mountain)
4. Type of boat to the South
5. The words on the building furthest to the west (don't ruin your eyes, close guess is fine)
6. The manager of the shop next to the Hat store
7. The time on the clock on Gold Mountain
8. Number of crates on the dock
9. What lies just to the South, past the crates
10. What is the only item Gold Mountain sells for gold?

Eighth Puzzle

Hidden in and around Barton:
1. Picture icon on the Music Shop
2. Weapon in the Arena
3. Number of boats in the canal
4. Word on the Forums building (NOT "Forum" wink
5. Color of the Train Station roof
6. How to get to G-Corp from Barton (either of 2 ways)
7. Shape ON the Guild shield
8. Type of building attached to the "shirt" shop.
9. The person who owns the shop with the purple roof
10. The only destination where all Trains used to go (now you get there by going South)
11. Where the North Gate leads

There will be two avatar contests (at least). One is a TekTek contest and the other is a "Snapshot" contest. Both will have a Summer Theme. These are the two out of three you’ll have to pay extra for. Start the trade with me, please, unless you already gave extra gold over the price of your ticket to THE Santa Claus, in which case I can get it from him. You must PM me if this is the case.

RULES for TekTek Summer Avatar Contest:

1. Entry fee is 100g. Avatar must have a Summer Theme.
2. Any skin color, hair, eye and mouth are fine.
3. There is no limit to the cost of your Summer TekTek Avatar.
4) Once you enter your submission you can not edit it in any way.
5. You may enter as many times as you like, paying 100g for each entry.
6. Please PM me with your entry form below.
7. I will judge the contest and my judgment is final.
8.40% of entry fees will go to the 1st place winner. 30% of proceeds will go to the 2nd place winner. 20% will go to the third place winner. Prizes are guaranteed to be more than 100g each.
9.All entries must be in by August 22nd

(Hint: It may be hard for the judge to make out everything you add on if it is too cluttered.)

1. Entry fee is 100g. Avatar must have an summer theme.
2. There are no limits to how you have your avatar, but it must be your real avatar (no TekTek for this contest).

...Post 13: How Charities Can Participate in the Fair




* Keep on giving throughout the event, just as you usually do.

* Post a banner (see next post) to this event on the first page of your charity, linked back to this thread. Next to the banner write a brief phrase describing what your charity is "showing" at THE Fair. It can be anything at all!

* PM me so I know you're participating, please. Include the name and link for your charity.

* Optional: Run an auction during THE Fair (you can auction what your charity is "showing" but then it has to be a Gaia item or artwork or a Gaia service) either in your thread or linked to another thread for the auction. If you'd like one of my elves to run your auction, let me know in your PM.

NOTE: If you did not get an invitation but you are still a charity that has been giving for at least a month, you ARE eligible to participate! Just do the above. Thanks for all you do!
