Welcome to the Espoir Charity!

This charity has been around before, but now it's jazzed up a bit more - with added features, new contests, and a new co-owner. What's not to like? We've got everything a charity should have to offer, but you'll have to stick around to find out ..

Everyone is welcome here, from newcomers to veterans of Gaia. Our goal is to help you with yours, from contests to random donations. You'll never know what's coming! But please be mindful of your fellow Gaians, and be courteous to one another. Bad behavior isn't rewarded but with discipline. We don't want to have to pull out our parental tone on you. o;

We hope you will enjoy yourselves here, as we want our charity to be a place of fun and relaxation away from everything else, make new friends, and become our friends as well. At some point, we may be looking for thread moderators, so that's another possibility to those interested.

3 - We ask that you don't advertise your quest/charity thread here. If you wish for us to affiliate you, or keep it in your signature as most do, that's acceptable.
4 - Please be literate when chatting in the thread. 'Txt' talk for a joke every now and again is fine, but don't make it a habit.
5 - Don't 'hit and run', the only gold you'll get is whatever the posting bonus gave you.
6 - Absolutely NO offensive/childish nonsense. Automatic blacklist/ban from the thread, and we will warn other threads of your behavior.
7 - We want people to be active within the thread and enjoy being here. If you want a donation, you'll have to stick around. *This also refers to rule 5.
8 - No page stretching ( i.e., excessive quote trees, large fonts, lengthy pictures)

I owe this blog idea to Dazed, see post below. This is Espoir Charity's second thread. I originally created it in November of 2009 and it stuck around due to its faithful regulars. But with two children of my own and limited time and funds, Dazed thankfully offered his assistance as a coowner and offered all great kinds of ideas. Thus the new thread was born.
A little bit about me. My name is Tammy. I am 22 years old. I am on the short side: only 5'2" if you round it up. I am a stay at home with a 2 year old little boy named Erik and a 2 month old named Jeffery. I am a World of Warcraft nerd.

Irritation of the week: Public mushiness. I have a couple friends on facebook who constantly post how they love their SO. And then all their relationship drama goes on there too. I can't stand it.

Well, I think this is a pretty original idea. Rather than just stating some facts about me, I figured blogging about random things would add some character to the thread. But I will still state some stuff haha ..

In the real world outside of Gaia, my name is Justin. I'm 22, working away at a silly job until I get into college for Business Administration, which will hopefully be this year if all works out. I'm 6'5, blonde, blue eyes, and I wear glasses like a boss. I have a beautiful 4-year old daughter named Sophia, and by the time she's done growing at the rate she is, she'll easily be 6'.

This contest will be weekly as well, but not continuous. It will be maybe once or twice a month, depending on the popularity of the other contests here.
Rather than bumping, we will have a quiz. There are no right or wrong answers, as they will be more personal like favorite song, band, color, etc.
How many questions may vary from time to time.
The first person to complete this quiz gets a mega prize, the next 9 get the weekly prize!

For every 100 pages, there will be a prize. Instead of being the first post, when the page has been filled, a random number will be generated based on the number of posts. Whichever number generated will be the post number and that person will be the winner!
In the event either DazedClarity or PeppyDancer are chosen, another number will be generated.

The prize will be 100k!

Once we get to the 1000th page, and then 2000, 3000 .. the prizes will be much greater! But the only way you'll find out is by getting to that page .. dundundun~

There's not much to it really, we'll sell a ticket for a small amount, and at the end of the week we will draw a number. You can buy as many tickets as you like, as they will be generally cheap anyway.

The person who's number is randomly selected wins 90% of the earnings gained by tickets bought, while the charity keeps 10% for future prizes. Even if you don't win the Lottery, you can still win gold from other contests or random donations, so don't fret over a bit of gold you put into the Lottery.

The prize for the Lottery may not always be gold, so keep participating to enjoy other extravaganzas! Could be a Monthly Collectable, or a Cash Shop Bundle .. who knows?
(Well we do but you know what we're trying to convey.)
