I feel like a failure but it was causing me to have panic attacks

No. Definitely not a failure sweetie. You have to think about what's best for you. And that job certainly doesn't sound like it if it was causing you problems. There are just some things that aren't easy or can't be controlled, but that doesn't mean you failed.
