My mom-in-law turns her little guys' blankets on like an hour before bed time so that the bed is already warm when they crawl in for sleep. Then they turn it off and go to bed. How do you do it?

I turn it on a little before bed on the lowest setting and just leave it on. I only turn it up one notch if I wake up cold, but I rarely do. It's usually just warm enough. I also have a light weight comforter that I have on top of it to keep the heat in. I know you're not supposed to have a blanket on it, but I like some weight on me and the electric blanket is too light. I might try swappin' the order this winter and see if the heat makes it through.

I always kick my top sheet off the bed in the summer or winter. Not sure what that's about, but when I wake up it's always on the floor.

I can't stand being hot. Especially sweaty hot. If I'm working out, I don't mind being sweaty, but trying to sleep is the worst. My hubby and I keep our room cold throughout the year. Big comforters and such are our best friends. ^_^

I HATE having cold feet and CANNOT sleep if my feet are cold. (super sexy sleepwear...NOT!) lol

I'm not big on sandals, I hate the feeling of dirt on my feet. But I'll wear them in the house so I don't have to be barefoot. I NEVER walk barefoot if I can help it.

What I hate even worse, is the feeling of being sock-footed and stepping in something wet... ewwww!

That is pretty icky.

And by the way, socks can be super sexy sleepwear! I mean, heck, there are garters for socks!

My mom is always annoyed 'cause my feet look clean when I'm wearin' sandals and hers look like she's got socks on by the end of the day from dirt. xd I tried tellin' her that she shuffles her feet and scoopin' that dirt right up in her shoe, but she gets mad and says she doesn't. sweatdrop

Ok I WILL concede that a well maintained lawn is ok in bare feet! heart

Even still, I grew up with dogs and they weren't "scooped after" and we would occassionally step in something. Worse than that was trying to do cartwheels and flips in the yard and putting your hand in it! xp

Well...we're going to meet up with a bunch of my hubby's friends for dinner on Friday night. (he grew up there in Chi-town, so this should be interesting... lol) After that, not sure! His mom and two brothers still live there, so I'm sure we'll spend some time with them.

I think we're going to try to hang out at Navy Pier one late afternoon/evening. Maybe take in one of the scenic boat cruises...I love Navy Pier, and believe or not, even though he's grown up there, he's never been! o.O

I'd also like to see the Sears Tower if we can. I haven't done that yet. smile

We'll see. What I DON'T want to do is sit around at his mother's house (where we'll be staying) for hours on end debating about what we should do for the day and end up doing nothing but eating or going to see a movie (which we can do here at home!) lol

My exoctic travels are over for the season...money is now non-existent. lol

The heat I can stand, I'm a Texas girl after all. I can't stand the cold though. I went to Maine for a winter once and it was about the worst ever. They said it was the worst winter they'd had in 7 years. Dreadful. Yeah, it was a white Christmas, but the beauty of it is lost on you when your nose is running and you haven't felt your feet in months. gonk
