Shameless Lover
Almost two months ago, on the 30th of May,
my dog Max was hit by a truck when he crossed the road
to chase a rabbit, and was instantly killed.
He was only 18 months old.
Although I'd only had him for a little under a year,
he was my very best friend and I loved him
more than my own fiance.
He was the runt of the litter, and came home in a small box.
I would carry him around like a baby, bathe him, feed him,
& he would sit in my lap while I was on the computer
or lay with me in front of the fireplace.
Losing him was a terribly damaging event in my life;
I didn't eat or sleep for two weeks, and I cried almost every night.
Now I'm doing a little better, and I've been doing a series of tributes
here on Gaia and on other sites as well.
Generous artists have done all sorts of artworks of us together.
Now I'd like to get an item in his memory...
