Well, you need to watch the market for a bit.

Entering Exchange topics, and looking what people are offering on most, but don't buy anything yourself. Then when you get pretty confident on what other exchangers are buying and presumably selling for profit, you do the same thing.

Right now, I know that the Dolls are pretty hard to sell, so I tend to stay away from them.
Blue Belle is pretty popular.
Any old EI's are pretty popular, depending on the gen.
Animated items tend to sell for more.
Hair and eye mod items are popular.
Anything that resembles a cat is a win.

I had a lot of junk in my inventory that I sold. Stuff I was holding on to since I first joined Gaia, but that's never really been worth much and that I've not really liked.

I sold a lot of it, donated a lot more and made myself all the cash I needed. I've been exchanging all morning, and I'm just waiting for people to buy my stuff. ^^
