Over the last few weeks,the
Tour De Gaia race was being held. With that everyone was making a running sprite..
(A running sprite is a small character
that resembles your GaiaOnline Avatar. These sprites were first introduced during the
2004 Gaian Olympics. )
While I watched the Tour De Gaia race from spectator view,I made a sprite myself to enter in the next race. By the time the race finished,I made trophies for the winners... After that a few people came asking for me to make some sprites for them. Then I thought "What if we had an entire list of all the sprites made?
And that's where we are now. So I have created this massive list of all the custom made sprites. If you wish to add your sprite to the list, Pm me the sprite, but
DO NOT POST HERE! Posting here would result in thread necromancy, and this thread could get deleted.

And to add copyrights,I'll put the names of who made them beside the sprites. (all sprites will be linked)
And If you want a running sprite, just follow these instructions below.

First, start with one of these bases below.
After you've chosen a model, use MS Paint, or Photoshop to add clothes, hair, and eyes. You may also use items, and hairstyles in the sprites on the next post to get it done quicker. After you have made the base look like your avatar, make the other two sprites resemble it too. The head is exactly the same on each sprite unless you want to have hair or wing movement.
Now it's time to animate! Save each sprite as a gif. (depending if you have a gif animator) Be sure to have sprites 1 and 3 exactly aligned. Sprite 2 is about one pixel to the left of the other two.
On the Gif Animator have each frame run about 20-15 (depending on how fast you want your sprite). Be sure to have all frames the same number. Add in the sprites as followed:the first one, then the second, then third, then second again. Have it Loop, and Repeat forever. With that, your sprite should be done. Be sure to save it as well. :3
When animating, the sprite that doesn't have it's legs apart is moved one pixel to the left when animating. When I make my sprites, it looks like they're moving forward, then back a little, then forward. If the head on each frame is exactly alligned, they'll look like they're running, but they are going nowhere. This little trick adds to the realism...
This is the Gif animator that I use. I also just recently downloaded
Graphic Gale which also makes animations. Feel free to use either one. ^_^
