Unless there are programs that run on 98 but not on XP, then definitly go for the one with the NT kernel. You'll find that it's so much more stable.

If he's asking whether or not 98 is better than XP, then he probably doesn't.

Seeing as most anything is better than 98 (with the possible exception of ME), definately XP.
