@DLLAL2:
Is it possible for you to form a sentence without the word "Alltel" in it?

@Camping:
If it involves cabins, electronics or things like kerosene and gasoline... I do not consider it camping. When you camp you build fires (matches are fine if you want to bring some), sleep in the open (or pitch a tent if you want) and look at the stars in the sky which is much clearer than your laptop's LCD could ever hope to be. cool
bingo.

sad to say i could go camping with what i have on me and not do too shabby.

stuff i carry on me most of the time.

folding razor knife
gerber multi tool (except mines black.)
about 20 feet of 65 pound fishing line.
a 3watt 2AA led maglight.(currently lost)
lighter.(never smoked just a pyro)

I'm more of a leatherman person myself.

Though don't carry it around. Australian weapon laws are very restrictive.

never cared for how leatherman cuts into my hands when i try to squeeze it hard.

i not only live in the us i live in the south. you could ask half the guys at church for a knife and they would have one on them.
I haven't camped in quite awhile. I've gone on a lot of road trips recently though, which are equally as fun (and sometimes more fun) but less... wildernessy? It is awesome when you are in a place where you can walk for miles in any direction and not see any sign of civilization. :]

@Topic:
My wireless bandwidth is 1Mbps-down and 1Mbps-up. I think it is cool that my provider doesn't give me a very small upload bandwidth like many do. It is also nice that the service is cheap, I wish my family would upgrade to the 6Mbps-down package.

Wifi is great in the home, but a land line to the door wins every time.

Dial-up?
If it can even be considered dial-up, yes.
Embarq. DSL. I suppose it's business DSL, my grandparents jsu retired from being stock brokers a few days ago.

Got wireless up here to my room. And yes, every time the phone rings, I get disconnected for 30 seconds or so.

I can get 200K download max from multiple sources (filesharing stuff), torrenting I can manage like 150K steady, though I usually limit myself to like 70K down and 30K up (I up to like 50K while I sleep) since I'm not paying for it and it's used elsewhere as well.

50-60 ping.

And I'm loving it, really. I sometimes have to stop and think "Wow, WHAT do I want to download now?"

Cordless phone? If not I don't think you have your lines filtered properly.
Yeah, cordless. I suppose I could go down to the modem and change the channel, but "leave well enough alone" is my take when it's other people's setups and it's not much of a bother.

What makes you think they'd be able to get 3G in an area where they can't even get DSL/Cable internet? Seriously, that's just... dumb.

As for satellite, satellite is terrible if you ever, EVER intend to play any sort of game online, no matter what it is. The minimum ping on satellite is like, what, 750ms? And that's on a good day?

Satellite is terrible

but I can't get DSL or Cable where I live, and on cellular, AT&T has 1 bar EDGE, Verizon has 0 bars, Sprint roams onto Alltel, and Alltel has 3 bars EVDO, we service a lot of rural areas, there are some places that we have EVDO that will never see DSL or Cable
