I've never tried Sphere, Syn-Thetic, but it definately looks like a cool toy to impress houseguests with.

Just a few different desktops I have or have had recently:

Kubuntu 1

Kubuntu 2

Ubuntu

Windows

Of course my desktop is a bit different now using transparent panels in KDE with psuedo-transparent (actually just shows background but not a window under) application borders.

Hey, what shell are you using on your windows? I like it. If I could size down the icons, or make the taskbar double height, that would be awesome.

For the windows screenshot, it looks like an unofficial Windows XP Visual Style or a StyleXP theme. But, I don't know - I don't have his system; I'm just guessing heart

I wouldn't mind hacking the Start Button myself. Make it something obscure or just plain rude depending on my mood. I'm a funny one but it's my laptop and thus I do what I want. I did buy it with my own money 4laugh
