Welcome to Gaia! ::

Hi, so I'm needing a little bit of help deciding on what kind of lcd tv I want.
So far I found this lcd tv.

Coby 40" class LCD HDTV- FTV4025

On kmarts site, and I'm in the process of putting it on larway.

The only problem is, it's not on display in any of the stores, so I feel like I'm shopping blind. All I have is one review which is on the links site. and a picture and specs about the tv.
I want everyone to be honest, do you think this is a good model? Do you think this tv is good to start out with? I'm basically upgrading from a old old tv. I've never owned a lcd before. so this is my first time. I'm really worried about the sound quality for this tv. The only thing this tv will be used for is ps3 game playing, and netflix watching as well as blue-ray movie watching. That's it. I dislike cable now that netflix has been born into this world Lol.

Just really need some guidance on this, and if I'm making the right choice.
if anyone has this tv, please please PLEASE! tell what you think about it. ^__^ thank you so much in advance.

ps. ( I need to fry some chicken, but I will be online, and when I do see a post, I will answer as quickly as I can. Wouldn't mind the forum filling up though.)
          Let me ask you this question. How much fast paced action movies and sports are you planning on watching with this TV? If the answer is that you're a sports nut and love fast paced action movies with a lot of high speed chases then maybe this isn't the TV for you. If the answer is all you do is sit there and watch things like Glee and American Idol then you're fine with this choice because at this point uber bright pictures, web apps for watching more movies, and what kind of back lighting it has are secondary when it sounds like you don't have the funds to afford a set with that kind of stuff standard.

          I ask about the movies and sports because of the specifications of the television. Most big name flat panel televisions today have a screen refresh rate of 120 Hz per second standard which allows for things like hockey games and NASCAR racing to look smooth when the puck or the car is zipping along on the screen. The television you're looking at does half that rate at 60 Hz, which is why it's so much less than most televisions of a similar size. That rate is fine when you're just going to watch the news, reality programs like American Idol, and dramas like House and NCIS. I'm not very familiar with the brand nor did I read much about them in my own research for the television we just purchased for our household (we're replacing a sixteen year old Sony Trinitron square CRT television that was the top of the line at the time that works very well). Personal opinions about K-Mart aside, for an introductory LCD television it sounds like a decent deal.

Coby is a cheap brand. Don't expect much out of it.

What are you looking at for sound quality?
