The sad part is I live so far out from a town theres literally no cable or DSL line that reaches out this far. At least it's better than Satellite I suppose, and theres no datacap, not that I'd hit it.

You know, when I was younger I would've killed for internet that fast. I was on dialup until I was 18 years old, as we lived in the so call 'Ring' - too far from the city for them to bother extending their DSL and cable lines, but not far enough for them to run rural access DSL or cable lines. Smack bang in the middle of those sweetspots.

Needless to say, the prospect of going back to anything below cable is terrifying to me now. I mean, how did I ever get anything done back then? neutral

My fiance works for Shaw, so we just have the best internet they provide on the cheap. ;p It'd probably be better if I weren't on wifi, though. This room can be a bit of a deadzone, and the box is a couple of rooms away.

Yeah, I'm now currently at 10x the internet speed I was on before when I was living with the g/f's parents...paying about the same they are. I need to pay the extra to up my upload speed though...I'd much rather have it at least 1/10th of my down speed.

Edit: If anyone is curious about that low ping...I live right across the street of the server hosting that speed test.

I normally get 31-32mbps download and about 5mbps upload. Using Road Runner Extreme. Got a promotional plan too at only 49.99/month which is cheaper than normal price for their 15mbps. (I'll up a pic when I get home. At work now, lol.)

And just for laughs, here's the speed of the net I'm using tethered off of an AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 2.

My internet bill is $80 a month. No cable, no phone, just internet is $80. Its pretty damn fast though.
