Is there a program to block sites?

Or firefox extension.
I need it, because I am pornography addicted. I can't control myself.
So I would like to block some sites, that have porn in them.

Such as
www.deviantart.com
etc.

Is there such a program or firefox extension?

I would be really grateful for your help.
I it really important to me.
( Ps. I lost my glasses, so I could have made some mistakes in the post.

Well, you could always go with the traditional netnanny type service, or you could use the firefox Adblock extension to block pictures from certain sites. I'd go with the netnanny type blocker, as I bet it will work better.

Have a router? Some of them have the ability to block sites by IP...

If not, Firefox's "adblock" extention works well if you have the will power to not remove entries from it...

There's other solutions, but, these 2 are by far the easiest...

Adblock only blocks images and scripts from selected sites BTW.

You can still visit the site in adblocks blocked list and read stuff off them they just come out somewhat screwed up.

google for "host file" it'll allow you to block acces to specific web sites on said computer. and it's part of windows, so it uses NO resources smile

Couldn't you just right-click on the porn when you see it, and select "Block Images from (insert host here)"? I don't think that's even a plug-in, it came with my copy of Firefox by default.

Just think of it this way. Porn is like the little Volkswagen Bug down the street whose driver thinks he's hot stuff. Why look at that trash when you have a frickin' Caddilac?

And porn doesn't help with sex, contrary to popular belief. It merely causes one to transpose the image they see to the person that they're with, which causes problems because though that person may not be superficially as "pretty", they are a much better person to be with.

Oh yeah I remeber now... I use it to block of some servers whitch some spyware was sending off too.

By default the only line in it is 127.0.0.1 localhost.

but you can add in lines like
www.google.com 127.0.0.1

That will make it so whenever that DNS is entered it will automatically redirect you to 127.0.0.1 Or you... and as you don't have a http server. you will just get a blank screen.

Not true, it's a bit stranger than that...

If you use the "Remove Ads" option....

If Mozilla just starts up, you may read a blocked site, but no images appear. If Mozilla is running, the site would be blocked.

I use it as a blocker when I've been slacking off too much.

It might also be useful to block the "pr0n images" from deviant art and still enjoy the site.

I remember hearing about a p2p client that forwards everything you view to another person.

If knowing someone else would know you were looking at teh pr0n would keep you from looking at teh pr0n, you might want to search for it.

It doesn't, but it does have nude photography. My guess is our OP hasn't been exposed to artistic n***s, so s/he's lumped them into his/her porn category and is treating them the same way as s/he would porn.
