iPod cases

Forgive me if this is a repeat topic, I glanced through about 3 pages and didn't see anything like it.

So I'm getting an iPod, and I want to get some opinions on cases for them. It's very important to me that I protect such an expensive little gadget! Ideally, I'd like an attractive case (I'm a crazy girl so sometimes "attractive" and "tacky" can be the same thing) that will protect the iPod from being banged around in my purse along with my wallet, keychain, cell phone, etc. I'd also like something where the scrollwheel and screen (if applicable) can be seen without my having to remove the iPod from it's case.

I'd love to have some user reviews of what you guys have experienced. All the positives and negatives! And don't leave anything out because I don't know what kind of iPod I'm getting! My father won it at some business conference and is giving it to me because he'll never use it. So I don't know if it's an iPod Shuffle, a Mini, or standard size. I didn't bother to ask him because he wouldn't know anyway. When he won, he leaned over to one of his co-workers to ask "What's an iPod?" sweatdrop

I have always found the newegg reviews to very accurate.

ebay has cheep $6 nock-off cases, but they'll protect your ipod from scratches. After that, not many cases will protect it from a drop.

Anyway, I know this isnt what you wanted, but it needs mentioning anyway. I have a case from Lilipods.com and it is completley wonderful. Its great for me, as most times when I am traveling with iPod, Im not exactly the most gentle. Plus, you dont have to worry about it on say, a climbing wall, falling off my bike, or snowboarding which was why I got it in the first place. Its a cheap insurance policy, and protects against most above normal climatic events, even water. Only drawback is you do have to take it out of the case completley to mess with it. But I usually have a playlist going anyway, usually enough songs. I can only get through about 125 or so in a 6 hour snowboarding session anyway. wink

Actually...that's EXACTLY what I wanted. Thanks! If that kind of case holds up to a snowboarder, it can probably defend my iPod against keychain and cell phone. ^_^;
