Google Fiber is apparently being officially rolled out, and started with Kansas City.

Is anyone else crossing their fingers in anticipation of getting the ultra-cheap ******** fast speeds?

Excuse me if I'm late to the party, I've been busy 'studying' for Sociology.
I'm happy with regular broadband.

I'd commit a homicide for $70/mo gigabit fiber.

I'm hoping this will attract enough customers and media attention that Comcast, Verizon, and all their ilk take notice and change their behaviors and policies nation-wide. If Google is successful, it will change the whole market for the better.

I'm not happy with "regular" broadband because I know it could be so much better and cost so much less if Comcast didn't have a monopoly on my area.

I may be getting cynical in my old age, because my first thought was "Awesome, now they'll be able to scrape your data twice as efficiently!"

I wouldn't be shocked one bit if CumCrustComcast tried some bullshit to keep Google out of Houston.

I can only imagine if google fiber got here to Mexico. :/
I get 5mbps and that costs me 70 dollars a month along with phone and cable.

Doubtful. I have reasons for staying far away from southwest Missouri. But regardless, the weather is too hot and has too many cyclonic formations.

It's only been 20 years. Statute of limitations expires in another 20.

That's cheaper than what I pay now for the same speed Internet with phone and cable...
