Egotistically

So i have a macbook and i downloaded GIMP onto it.
i downloaded all my brushes and fonts that i liked.
then when i try to use the brushes, it's really tiny.

i looked up all sorts of things on how to resize the brushes
apparently, the brushes i have are locked?

how do i unlock them so i can resize? D;

No, you don't need to edit them, Gimp can resize them dynamically. Click the tool options tab and then there will be a option for size, drag the bar or whatever you want really.

hey! since you helped me before:

so i'm trying to save a pattern onto my gimp.
but apparently (as the front says) gimp 2.8 wont let you save.
how do you get the pattern to work onto gimp?
i exported it and put it into a folder labeled Gimp Patterns.
then i went to preferences on my mac for gimp and enabled that folder.
but the pattern does not show.

Uhm. So!
A very kind person said I'm allowed to do this.
I would like anyone's opinion on the graphic I just made with GIMP.
I'm new to the program, so I hope I did things okay for my first go!

What I would suggest first and foremost, if you were wanting to use that image on a few different coloured backgrounds make it .png file with a transparent background. It means you can recycle your images for different stuff (Like profiles). Second, I would duplicate the girl layer and set the layer mode to "Overlay" then play with the opacity a little. It makes the colours go a little different but I enjoyed the effect.

Another thing you could do (after you do the overlay trick) is grab the gradient tool and in the tool options click the gradient displayed and a menu will pop down and choose the gradient "Deep Sea". Then select the overlay layer and go to "Colours > Map > Gradient Map". It will make the image a bit cooler in shade and I think it ties in well with her eyes.

Just some ideas, if you need more explanation of how to do it, quote me =]
