So basically, my mom is switching the family plan from At&t to T-Mobile, which means I have to downgrade from my iPhone in a few days. Now I could just start my own plan, but alas, I am in college and stingy as hell. SO, I'm trying to decide between the motorola CLIQ or the Blackberry (I think it's the curve)
They both have internet, e-mail and whatnot, so I guess that narrows the deciding factors down to screen size and general ease of use. I'm kiiiiinda leaning towards the blackberry, just because it has a better keyboard. (my touch screen phone now is a pain in the a$$)

Any thoughts? I'm curious to see what people who already have these phones think of them.

[[edit: I've added links to the phone's above xD]]
Versus threads are against the forum rules.
I would say get the Curve, but I am kind of a BlackBerry fanboy, just make sure you go to the store and play with both to see which one you like best.

Also, I don't think this was intended as a vs thread, despite the title, she just needs advice
Sorry, I originally said "CLIQ vs. Blackberry" in the title but I just meant I was trying to comparing them. I didn't actually intend to pit blackberry and Cliq phone lovers against each other and watch them fight. o.O (sheesh.)

Changed the title, hopefully that will clear things up.

Uh The CLIQ has a real short battery life if your going to have your Email/Aim/Facebook/Myspace/Etc. running at the same time...
Plus Motoblur is dying from what Motorola said...
So the operating system might not have many updates~

I would get the Blackberry it might be a revamped model of a old curve but Blackberry's main operating system is getting a huge update! ^.^
And that phone will be here for tons of more time... Because there are even older Blackberry models out there that still are produced/fixed lol....
Get the Cliq root it and isntall a custom recovery and cyanogen mod biggrin

It's like choosing between a douche and a turd sandwich! Both are awful.

It depends on what model of the Curve is purchased; the older models are not getting OS bumps, have glaring issues like:
Quote:
Four year user CWallace found that over time dirt infltrates the track ball limiting scrolling and the ability to get to menus. This can mean the phone is not usable because without the track ball the phone directory cannot be opened. Users should keep a replacement trackball on hand when traveling. Otherwise this phone is consistant and robust.[1]
and are consistently being touted as running farther away from current market standards that the OP is in want of, having just come from an iOS device.
