Specific Rules & Guidelines for Posting, or How to Post Bugs in This Forum
The better the information you provide when reporting your difficulty, the more likely someone is to be able to help you with it. If it's a glitch on Gaia that needs to be fixed, more information can really help identify and solve a problem a lot faster as well. So here's a few tips...
Topic Names: Please follow standard naming format!
Format Example =
Site feature: brief description of issue
Example 1 =
Word Bump: Gold grants aren't working
Example 2 =
Towns: Cannot access/server will not load
By including the area of the site along with a brief description of your problem or the actual error message as the subject for the thread, it will be a lot easier for other users having the same problem to find your thread. This is important, since gathering information from several users experiencing the same difficulty can often help identify and solve issues much faster.
**Failing to follow the standard naming format will result in your thread being moved to the Recycle Bin or it will be renamed accordingly.**
Bug Report Format (info in your post)
The following is needed in your bug report. Providing this information will make it faster/easier for Gaia Staff to isolate the issue. Please copy/paste the info into your report, that's in between the stars and add your answers after each line.

"Why should I tell you my computer info?!?"
Quote:
Though the majority of bugs can occur to users on any computer of any type, some errors only occur on certain computers, depending on what OS, browser, and/or Internet connection your computer has. At the very least, these bugs can be fixed by simply changing some minor settings on your computer. At the most extreme, you may have to switch browsers and such in order to fully get rid of the bug.
Be SPECIFIC
Include the exact error message you are getting in your report. Describe what you do immediately before the error happens. If there is no error message, say that too. Tell us how you produced the error so that someone else can attempt to duplicate it to find out more information about it. Screenshots can also be helpful.
If it's intermittent, check the Server ID's
Sometimes if you're getting an error that only comes up once in a while, it's a single server that has the faulty code, which is why the error only comes up intermittently. Right-click on the page and choose 'view source', then do a search for 'Gaia Server' to get the Gaia Server ID on the page where the error occurs.
