UPDATE 7/9:
Going through the last bunch of people by hand right now. UPDATE 7/8 6:30pm: Planning to finish and run the final scripts by tomorrow latest, tonight if possible. In reading the threads, a lot of people are asking if they can just have their trading pass held until they can get the cash next month. It's kind of unusual, but we're trying to do the right thing, so if you'd like to be in list, what you should do is send me a pm with the subject "ZONG AUGUST HOLD." What it means: - we don't take your items right now - you go ahead and use mobile payments for the GC that you owe in August - we'll adjust your account, and unblock your trading pass This presumes that you a) don't owe more than your monthly limit, and b) have been able to successfully charge -- but if you send a PM with that subject I'll have an autoresponder that will tell you whether you're on the August hold list or not. UPDATE 7/8 5:00pm: Another batch done. One more script to write, and I think we'll get that done today (I hope!), and we can take care of everyone else. Tomorrow we'll send out a PM to everyone that details the exact failing transactions so that you can check your phone bill and make sure you haven't been charged. Still need to go through this thread, will do that later today. UPDATE 7/8 10:00am: About halfway done. We will be clearing out more accounts throughout the day today, and then I'll comb through all the responses in here and try to update this post with answers to any frequently-asked questions. UPDATE 7/7 7:30pm: Second batch of people have been adjusted and trading passes freed up. UPDATE 7/7: To clarify something the PM said -- If you'd prefer to keep your items, you can go ahead and add cash back into your account by whatever mechanism you want, including mobile payments; all the issues have been fixed at this point. (It's very easy to rollback an account with enough cash, because it's a simple adjustment; otherwise we have to look at trades and inventory and whatnot, and it becomes a lot more complicated.) Thanks. We can't just add it to your phone bill (or whatever) because the carriers are very strict about premium SMS -- you have to verify each one. Original: We goofed! When we first rolled out the new mobile payment system on 7/2, people were granted some GC even though the carrier had refused the charge. We've put a temporary trading pass ban on people until we can sort this out. Currently, everyone that had enough GC in their account has been adjusted, and we're now scripting the changes necessary to do an automatic rollback of shop purchases and the like. To let people know what is going on, we're sending out a PM to everyone who is still affected, letting them know the status. Specific questions/concerns about the rollback can be added here. |
