Sticky: Report Inappropriate Ads on Gaia

while I was going around gaia today my virus catcher (kaspersky) kept reporting Trojan viruses. it mainly happened while I was trick-or-treating in the shops.

So, I was trick or treating in the shops, and I was going to talk to Devin in the tattoo place (can't remember the name) and my browser suddenly minimized, and a window popped up from one of those fake virus scan programs (the ones that pretend to protect your computer from malware, but actually are malware). I closed the pop-up and maximized my browser and closed the new page that the 'ad' took me too, which was a pretend My Computer folder, and I lost that shops page.

I've been getting this the past few days as well. I know it's from an ad cause it will pop-up when I go to a new screen and only on gaia.

I've been getting this too by surfing Gaia. Unfortunately, this isn't the only place I've ran across this ad. It's been popping up on other sites like mangafox.

Is there anything I can do to fix this, or am I just stuck with having to deal with it until the particular advertisement in question is no longer circulating?

Okay, this I posted in the Q&A and was directed here. This really isn't an inapprpriate ad report, so I'm not sure redirecting here is going to help much.

I was advised to download the ad bloker from Firefox and will do so, hoping that it will eliminate the problem, but I still think its better that you guys know that there is an ad out there booting people into error pages.

Unsure if this is the correct place, please forward to right person. Last night (10/30/2009) I was on Gaia collecting candy. I was in shops when i clicked a shop then a page came up that said my computer had a virus and it was being scanned!!! I quickly clicked the red close icon in the upper right of the web page. I ran a virus scan and everything seems fine. Thank you.

I'm being consistently redirected to http://some-air.com/online/791b6bf8ec8f2cc4b7a9e780ef2cb7d8/976dd6490c96736ce7eae104409b9d46/3656b9eddb95cfb9d7f013ed46b015a2 when making posts in forums.

I haven't seen the ad before I get redirected as I'm sure it's a banner towards the bottom of the screen.

ETA: This website will give you a popup that says your computer has a virus and needs to be scanned, similar to complaints I see higher up on this page.

This is a mule account because I am afraid of logging in on mt main account, but I keep getting redirected to some websites, one a 'virus scanner' site and another that's like a search engine. Part of the URL is 'Greatfeedmill' something. I can't do anything! I just keep getting redirected and it's rather infuriating.

i got the re=direct fake virus scan pop-up also.. please fix this gaia. it's so annoying, and I cant even go to the rally anymore or else that happens to me even more like twice as much!! I don't even go to rally or towns anymore.

I read the first page about the screen shot and the other stuff but honestly that's all so complicated for me and i dont get it. sorry. but i did check my computer and it says its up to date with viruses and firewall is working fine..just this happens to me on gaia.

thanks for listening/reading and sorry to be so negative, I havent been on gaia for awhile and when I came back today, that's what I got. makes me just want to stay away. just seriously it's so annoying and only happens on gaia. yeah thats all bye. pce.

Just happened to me, and I'm about near sick of it. All I was doing was browsing the forums, I clicked on something and BAM, there it was again.
