I don't have any urls, because this is a mule account but approximately three ago on the account Marlasauris Rex I got the "slow down" message and now whenever I try to log on to that account I get the message. I even stayed off Gaia for an hour and a half before trying again.

Edit: I decided to try and get on my main account and got the slow down message when I first logged on.

URL since you wanted one: http://www.gaiaonline.com/?login_success=1

I don't have any urls but it did happen to me early this afternoon, around 1 p.m. pst and it wouldn't let me on two hours later. I was going to go to the home page from the forums. This is the first time this has happened to me. I hope this helps smile

I don't have the URLs, but before yesterday I got Slow Down Hotshot 6 - 9 times. sweatdrop And yesterday I got it twice.
I vend in the Marketplace, so I refresh the "Just Added" page often. Sometimes I get SDH when I reply to PMs or comments, or post in forums.

2004 member, wrongfully banned.

I make Pixel Dolls. PM me.

I WAS NOT HACKED, I'M NEKKID FOR PERSONAL REASONS.

Not a few minutes ago, I experienced a problem where I was told to "slow down, hotshot" because I kept refreshing the page. The thing is, I never refreshed the page once. I was reading a thread, decided I didn't want to stay in that thread, and clicked on "My Gaia". Upon clicking on it, I got an error message or something that told me to stop refreshing the page, or I might be banned. It also accused/told me something about my being a bot or botting, but I don't use such tools. I'm a little concerned I might be banned for nothing. I haven't done anything against Gaia ToS in my entire time here, so I have no idea what's going on with it.

lowrnhart had a good idea. I would accept capthas, chamtha, however the heck you spell it, so that we can freely go through the site without being suspected of botting. It would be a pain, but it would at least prevent unecesarry (god, can't spell today) bans.

nevermind. I just realized that I had several tabs open to the same thread. I have no idea why the heck I was opening it up so many times, but I think that may be part of the problem.

Hi Carbonphyber,

First, I want to thank you so much for replying to our threads about the slow down error. I know that I have been a little temperamental about it -- mostly because I just became such a Gaia addict heart I love it here and I'd like to use the site often.

I registered almost 30 days ago now, and I received the slow down error playing the market. That wasn't a problem... I'd leave for about five minutes, come back and resume playing. I was refreshing waaaay too fast.

Anyway, it didn't become a problem until around Tuesday August 4th in the afternoon/evening. I'd say around 5 or 6 o'clock. I know that I posted a complaint up on Wednesday August 5th, because that day I was kicked off for three hours.

I noticed that this problem began around the same time the marketplace suddenly looked different, with the units added for everything and kind of a strange font style. It was odd.

I originally go the message when playing the market. I waited about 5 minutes, tried to go back, and it still wouldn't let me in. Then I started getting the message just from doing normal things like checking PMs or posting in the forums.

I didn't save all the URLs, but I'll save them and post them here from now on... The thing is, I stopped really playing on Gaia because of the error warning, so it's only hit me like once a day... It doesn't affect being in town at all -- In fact, I can be locked off the site & still chat in town.

I WISH I WASNT GAY
I've been having this problem since July 21st. I suspect it has something to do with something in your account. What I mean is I have been experiencing this problem since then, on and off, until today. It has become an unbearable burden.

It all began when I decided to use multiple tabs. Marketplace, a guild I frequent, the GD and the Q/A forum. At first I could avoid this problem by simply waiting 10 to 20 seconds, hitting back and moving on. What I've dealt with today is a complete shutdown of any navigation, posting, commenting and refreshing. Earlier today, around noon to five, I began commenting back and forth on my friends profile. After a while of this, and me loading his profile fine, I became unable to load it. I would try and access it multiple ways, but no luck. I could only respond using the comment back feature. This went on for sometime until I got various "CRITICAL ERROR" messages, alerting me of my "botting" and that if I did not cease I would be banned indefinitely.

I refreshed once, tried going back (with no luck) and I tried to log out. Nothing worked, so I cleared all of my data (cache, history, saved passwords) and closed my browser, which is firefox. I killed the process to make sure nothing was left over, opened a new window, went to Gaia, logged in without problem and PMed a mod about my situation. Figuring it was over, I clicked on the community tab. burning_eyes That was over an hour ago now, and I am currently unable to access the account I normally post with.

One account is horribly crippled and the other account, namely this one, is unafflicted. What gives? My friend suggested I may have been hacked, which I find completely ridiculous.

Hoping someone can shed some light on this soon, because this sucks.

EDIT: Had to open my big, fat mouth. As soon as I posted this I began having similar problems on this guy. Luckily I only had to wait a few minutes for it to subside. stressed

This is the account I was talking about in the quoted post. It seems to be working at the moment.

First of all I would like to thank you carbonphyber for bringing this matter to your attention. Second, I would like to state you spelled "Error" wrong, but that's irrelevant aswell.

EDIT: Misspelling fixed. :3

Now onto the problem...

Everytime I login to Gaia Online, the website gives me a brief error that basically tells me to "Slow Down, Hotshot" This message will appear at any given time and is completely random. It also has no specific place where it will pop up, it may pop up simply browsing the forums or it may pop up while in the marketplace, regardless, the problem exists and it is definitely there.

Now the annoying part:

When this error is received, it will most of the time lock the user from it's account for extended periods of time. (My case: 30 Hours) Although the user is allowed to usually access the homepage of Gaia Online, attempting to login to the "infected" account will throw that error message to you. Now, this error does not prevent the user from accessing alternate accounts, it just restricts the use of the blocked account.

Ways to bypass:

As of right now, no attempted method to get past the error have been successful, I have personally tried the following to no avail:

*Restarted Computer
*Used three different web browsers (Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer and Safari)
*Defragged computer hard drive.
*Changed IP Address
*Switched computers
*Asked my friend across the street to log into my account.
*Cleared Internet Cache, cookies and browsing history, along with all account information.

Conclusion:

The Error is impossible to bypass except for if the user simply waits a random, extended period of time. This time can be as minor as one or two minutes, to times over fifty hours. (I heard one week in extreme cases)

Fixing it:

Although I only understand this error to a certain degree, I do believe adding a captcha that would allow us to get through would be a wise decision, as you will be able to have your working (Sensitive as hell) anti-bot system but allow us innocent users to utilize the website.

>_> i am getting that and all i was doing was putting stuff in my new guild both me and my friend had it happen 2 times and now i cant even get onto my other account because of it. All it give me is that.

I get this message fairly often when selling things from inventory directly or when buying from the market place. However, until recently it hasn't been a major pain. Starting a few days ago it locked me out of my account and waiting had no effect so I went on my mule ... instantly gave the same message. Swapped to another browser, got my husband to go in on his account - same message. The we got the kids to try their accounts - nobody could use the computer to access gaia for around an hour or more - and all because I was selling off some stuff direct from inventory.

It's funny I'm the only one here who seems to have been locked out for over 30 hours... Most cases seem to be one hour tops.

Um thinking about what is going on. Seeing how it is not just happening to me. >_> i think Gaia REALLY need to change stuff to their system. >_> If everyone is getting it and not botting like me. How i was only doing stuff to my guild on my other account. >_> It becomes a real problem....They really need to either fix this or just get rid of that message and let us continue to play. I think it is a waste of time and MONEY for them to have that if no one can get on anymore because they keep getting stuff like that.

It stops that user from doing anything even if they did nothing wrong. >_> this is a load of crap.
