I'm having the same issue.
Not only avatars but some images and signatures in the profiles and forums as well, even if I'm using IE.

It was working normally 6 hours ago.

I think sometimes gaia avatar server is getting slow
or
something like that.
I don't really know what the problem is.
If someone knows about that situation

I sometimes have this problem too, when I play zomg. I just see a ghost shape of the avatars, but not the real picture of them, and I still see my own avi in the proper way. It's really annoying! And it makes it all so confusing when you wanna team up with someone.
Is there anyone who knows what the problem with this is?
