I'm sick of hearing people say this. No they aren't. What they are doing is working hard to earn money for themselves. They got the money (real life, real world money) for the fish and now it seems they don't care enough about their customers to even say "hey guys, we know there's a problem and we're working on it." No real life, brick and mortar business would ever be allowed to get by with this lack of customer service, but because it's a website we are all suppose to forgive their poor costumer service. Give me a brake.

Seriously? Than just leave the site if you believe they do not work for their users. Because all these updates, events, all, for money, right? Give Gaia a break, seriously. It's unbelievable how selfish their users are, they allow you to play this site for free, they do NOT force you to pay for anything. Almost everything you can buy with GC you can buy on the MP.
They stated before, just because they are not answering on forums doesn't mean they are not working on the bugs. So chill out, you people act like five year olds or as if the world is ending when Gaia gets a glitch, they are working on it, obviously -- otherwise they would have no trouble chatting here. They have tons of things to work out, but they should stop just because some people cannot handle one little glitch? You wait it out, like anything else. If it "bothers" you so much, just get off the site and do something in RL. That simple.
They are working on it, so chill out. Gaia does care about it's users.

Yeah I am.

But mostly because nothing has been said.
Last weekend when the tanks went down someone at least posted an "We are working on it" That made it better really. It's just nice to know they KNOW that something is wrong.

And the glitch isn't being swallowed under other issues.
I know they can not fix it all RIGHT NOW.
I code sites.
Nothing like all this but I understand the concept.


Just tell us it is on the list of things to be fixed. Please.

Honestly I don't care that things are broken. What's really pissing me off is how shitty Gaia's customer service is. I'm another person who has sunk rl cash into my tank. I've ice-ed my fish because it'll be a waste of my money to keep them unice-ed. That said though, all we're asking for is an acknowledgement that there is a problem. They took down tanks on saturday and Nora posted a notice saying that they were fixing tanks. No one blew a gasket over that. But that's because we knew something was being done and that the Gaia staff cared enough about us to say "Hey guys sorry tanks are down. We know there's a problem and it's a priority for us to fix it!" But it's been a whole day now and there still hasn't been a peep from the Gaia staff. Yes I know they're busy with the halloween event but even a message saying "Hi GA-ers! We won't have time to fix tanks till we have the halloween event out and bug free. Hold tight till then." would be better than their silence. That's what has us peeved.

Probably a silly question but when you say putting fish 'on ice' do you mean in Barrett's tank? I thought they still aged in there?

TOTALLY agreee the the MAJOR p***-off is that we are sitting here, knowing NOTHING! For all we know, they STILL arent even aware of it, inspite of all the notices.
BLAST IT! JUST KEEP US INFORMED and we (probably) all will be fine ... no matter the length of time. IF its going to be days .... JUST "ANNOUNCE" IT!

NOW (supposedly) they do not!
I havent taken to the time to check that out, but "everyone" is saying that it is true!
MINE are "on ice"!!!

the thing about this glitch is that it could be something in the informastion that they are still looking for, or could be an errpr on the server causing this, or something that once fixed will cause problems...

Now, i'm expecting to get flamed for this... but who in their right minds would spend hard earned money on aquariums with fish with an expiry date?

i'm pissed about this too, but the best i can suggest is to wait and see what the gaia tecs tell us

YES! People ARE LEAVING!!
One of my invites to my thread ... decent tank .... recent post .... NOW HAS written that she's QUIT ... and that if anyone misses her, to go to facebook (i think it was).
Pretty bad when people leave the site all together. She just tired of all the glitches!!!
I know that I'm getting tired of spending HARD-EARNED REAL MONEY to have this happen SOOOOOOOOOOO OFTEN!

I USED to think that to, but now realize that a better tank is more fun (sometimes more work too) but in actuality ... its rather inexpensive "entertainment"
It takes me less time to earn the $ than it does the gold, sooooooo ............
and time IS money!
(Hmmmmmm so what are we all doing wasting so much time on gaia???)

First of all, we paid for the service of using our fish to booty grab. If it weren't for booty grab, most of us wouldn't have sunk hard earned cash into buying fish. Therefore, we expect to receive the service we paid for. If for some reason, the service gets interrupted, we also expect to be informed of why this is happening. This is similar to any other service industry out there. If you go to a restaurant and order a dish and your order doesn't come out for an hour, you'll be pissed right? The staff haven't even come by to apologize for the delay or explain why there's a delay. Yes there could be a legitimate reason for the delay but unless they explain, the reason doesn't matter because you're still going to be a pissed customer who feels cheated out of the meal you paid for. This is the same thing as what's going on here. Gaia promised to provide us with a certain service and we've gladly paid for that service. However, as is perfectly natural, something goes wrong and the service is disrupted. Rather than apologize and appease us, they leave us pissed and wondering if we've just wasted money on the service we thought we purchased.

As to your point about spending cash on something we know will eventually die off. I can say that fish are a good investment because the return is good on them. I've had 12 momos for a month now and 5 meats for 2 weeks. I've seen 500k+ return on the fish and considering how much time I spend on gaia and the number of things I want on the site, I would say it's been worth it.
