((Not all libraries. We have a girl who I think is 16 working for us. But a lot of libraries make that specification, because working around school schedules can be a pain. Also, the city might have set that criteria, because the city can be stupid. And also, young people tend to move on or flake out -- not saying that you would -- so they are kind of a money waste, since you have to invest in training them and then they don't stay for long.

That all being said, I love being a Librarian and I would highly recommend pursuing that job if you are interested.))
