Thread Rules

• Follow the Gaia Terms of Service. That's an obvious one.
• NO STEALING! If you are caught stealing graphics, art, etc., you will be blacklisted and banned from the shop!
• Be respectful. Be friendly. Be welcoming.
• No foul language--a few minor words here and there are fine, but nothing that would make someone's ears turn inside-out.
• Be literate.
• Respect the staff. We all have our own lives, and we can't bend to everyone's needs right when they want us to. Please understand that.
• No scamming or spamming.
• The use of mules is fine in the thread, but not in contests.
• If you have any complaints, please PM the mule with them. Don't start an argument in the thread.
• No page stretching! It's understandable if it's an accident, but if you know how to prevent it, then don't do it.
• Co-owning is not allowed at the moment.
• These rules are subject to change by ANY staff member, after consulting with the owner. The staff are the law, so follow and respect their rules.

Roleplaying Rules

• Follow the Daisy Code.
• No god-modding. There will be no pet that is absolutely better than all the rest. There will be no killing in these RPs.
• Do not give your pets special and unusual powers. Small powers, like increased spiritual strength and foresight, are fine, as long as every pet doesn't have them. But no mutations, magic powers, morphing, etc.
• Keep things PG-13. No overly graphic violence or crudeness.
• Be realistic! All roleplay must occur in the lands that the shop is situated in.
• Feelings expressed in roleplay are the feelings of your CHARACTERS, not the actual person. Don't take offense if the other roleplayer's pet gets testy with yours.

The Western Frontier. A place of adventure, magic, beauty... and danger.

But although the west seemed an intimidating place, many souls made it their home, one of these being the wild horse. Horses, in a way, helped us shape the west into what it is today. They were there, with every explorer, with every pioneer, with every greedy little landlord looking to earn an extra buck on virgin soil. They saw it all, right alongside their trusted owners. But there was another form of equine that helped shaped the culture of the west, the wild mustang. A fiery, brave animal, surviving the driest of summers and coldest of winters so as only to survive. It is the mustang that gave the west it's mysterious spirit. It was the mustang that befriended the Native Americans, that lent them the strength of freedom. It was the mustang that set the cowboy's heart afire and made him eager for adventure. And it is still the mustang that enchants us all today.

So come, come into the west, and experience the magic of the wild horse. Perhaps, if your soul is pure and your body is worthy, one of these great animals will give you the trust that has formed the ageless bond of man and beast.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[1]: The Dark Pine Forest: Mysterious loners can usually be found in here. However, this forest is not a place for the faint-hearted. It is filled to the brim with adventure and strange creatures!

[2]: The Mountains: The mountains rise from the landscape like stone giants. Most are covered with pine trees, but the tallest are capped by sheer rock and snow. Few herds make thier home here.

[3]: The Lake (unnamed): A large mountain lake where herds gather to quench their thirst.

[4]: The Open Range: A vast stretch of plains and fields where most herds are found. This place is relatively safe, as long as you stay away from the edges of the forests.

[5]: The Distant Woods: A dark grouping of trees that leads to unexplored lands.

[6]: The Flower Meadows: A peaceful assortment of meadows covered in beautiful wildflowers! Many foals can be found here after they return from the mountain springs.

[7]: The Light Woods: A fairly safe forest. Many two-leggers are said to live in here. And the best apple trees are found here!

[8]: The Rapid River: A fast-flowing, dangerous river, but only at some points. Other places are smooth and slow-flowing. The water in here flows out of the mountain lake.

[9]: The Mountain Springs: A safe, secluded area full of fresh water springs. Many mares choose to travel here to have their foals, for few predators find their way into this place.

Stages

First Stage--Foal

>>Congrats on your newly-born foal! Females are called fillies, and males are called colts. These young horses are ready to begin their life, and with your help, they can become almost anything! Will they become the next Herd Alpha? Or the next to receive spirit paint for completing an amazing task? Their future is as wide as the open plains!

Second Stage--Yearling

Your young horse has now grown into a beautiful yearling! Almost an adult, yet not quite out of foal-hood, your horse is ready to venture out into the world and see new things!

N/a

Third Stage-- Adult (Mare or Stallion)

Wow! It happened so fast--that cute little foal has grown into an elegant, proud adult! Your mare or stallion is now mature enough to have foals of their own, and work their way to becoming alpha-qualified.

RP and Event Attainable Stage-- Alpha Qualified--Elder

Your horse has had a hard and eventful life, and has gathered a mind-full of wisdom along the way! Their strength is extraordinary, and their bravery can not be matched. Your horse is now Alpha-Qualified--or able to lead a herd.

These horses ARE RP-required. The art in this shop is unique and separately drawn for each piece, and we hope to ward off the “impulsive” buyers by making RP a must. Because of the time and skill it takes the colorists to make the pets, we don’t want people buying them and then leaving them abandoned.

RP Requirements

RP is required for your horse to grow. The requirements will not be too heavy, but they’ll be in place to help keep people in the shop.

*Note: If you are going on a prolonged hiatus or semi-hiatus, please notify a staff member so your pets won’t be taken away.

> RP Forum

Growth Requirements
*These are PER horse.

Foal to Yearling

> One completed RP. It must be two pages or more (30 or more posts). The posts must have at least 4 sentences in them. No one-liners.

Yearling to Adult

> One completed RP. It must be two pages or more (30 or more posts). The posts must have at least 4 sentences in them. No one-liners.

Adult to Elder (Alpha Qualified—Able to lead a herd)

> Three completed RPs, and all five of your growth RPs (the foal to yearling RP is acceptable if it is a bit off of the main plot) must have a slight plot to them. As long as they lead up to something, or have the horse learn an important lesson, or have the horse create a family, save another horse, etc., they’ll be acceptable. But nothing that’s too random. Also, if you complete these three RPs, and they have a respectable plot to them, then you can choose to receive spirit paint or an animal pelt for your new elder.
** Elders are what is referred to as “Alpha Qualified” horses. This means that they can lead a herd. Herds are allowed to have one alpha male and one alpha female. They do not have to be mates.

Growth Submission Thread--Go here to grow your horses.

Normal RP Requirements
*Only ONE RP is required to count for all of your horses.

These are the normal RP requirements in order for you to keep your horse.

> You must have an active RP at the checkpoint of every month. You and your partner/partners (or only yourself if it is a self RP) must have posted a reply to the RP within the last five days before the checkpoint.
> If you fail to meet these requirements, you will be given a warning through PM and five days to post a reply to an RP. If you still fail to meet this, your pet will be taken from you and you will be placed on the grey list for a month.
Next RP checkpoint:

> November 10th, 2009
>December 29th, 2009
>January 29th, 2010
>February 27th, 2010

Auctions

Most auctions, unless noted, will have these rules::

• ABs will be anywhere from 250k--3mil, or more, depending on the pet.
• Bid increment increases by 1k.
• DON'T BID WHAT YOU DON'T HAVE.
• A maximum of twelve items can be used to bid, the amount allowed for one trade.
• When bidding with items, list the full Tektek average value--then take 10% off of that value. The 90% you have left is what you can use to bid with. List both amounts, please.
• No guilt tripping anyone--when you can't bid anymore, be a good sport about it. Also, don't taunt others with your gold amounts. Keep it clean.
• A snipe guard of ten minutes will be in place. If someone bids withing two minutes of the end of the auction, ten more minutes will be added, and so on.
• Trades go to the "Maska Kwahu" mule.

Raffles

• Tickets cost 100g.
• You can buy as many as you want. You can also buy tickets for other people.
• You will choose in the order that is rolled, if you win.
• Tickets must be payed for in PURE GOLD.

Flatsales

• Flatsale pets will cost 15-25k.
• Most flatsales will be flaffle or RP-styled. The RP flats will require a prompt (it'll be listed) with your entry for the pet.

Games

• Follow the rules listed for the particular game.

Customs will always be announced before they open. They will be either raffle-styled or CC. This will ensure that everyone has an equal chance and is not hindered by slow computers, not being fast, etc.

• No cosplays allowed. These horses are to remain nature or western-themed, until further notice.

• Accessories must also stay within these limits. Please, no accessories that are meant for humans (ex.—sunglasses, clothes, shoes, electronics, etc.). Most types of jewelry, such as earrings, bracelets, and necklaces, will be allowed, as long as they are not too human-like. If you have a question about what is allowed and what is not, please ask a staff member.

• Hair styles must also not be human-themed. Long and curly hair is still accepted, but no human-like hairdos, such as buns, pigtails, ponytails. Braids, loops, small ponytail-like bunches, and Mohawks are accepted.

• Colors on a horse must be realistic. No neons or rainbow colors. The only way you can put color on your horse is by earning spirit paint. Info on different breeds will be added—also, it’s alright if your horse is an unrealistic breed (such as a chestnut coat with white hair or a palamino appaloosa) as long as the colors are realistic.

Spirit Paint

• Spirit paint is special paint that your mustang can earn after completing a sort of task through RP. Any mustang can earn it, whether they are herd-leader capable or normal. They can be foal, yearling, or adult.

• The RP must contain some kind of emotional or spiritual journey or task that the mustang completes, or some kind of good deed. For example:

-The horse helps a friend recover from the loss of family, friends.
-The horse saves another horse.
-The horse discovers something within themselves, such as a hidden power (spiritual, ex.-Foresight, Strength in battle), or a part of their spirit which they hadn't noticed before.

• Mostly anything that fits in the category of "good deed or self-discovery" will earn the horse spirit paint.

• What color paint your horse chooses can reflect their personalities.

Red--action, confidence, courage, vitality
Orange--vitality, endurance
Yellow--wisdom, joy, happiness, intellectual energy
Green--life, nature, well-being
Blue--youth, spirituality, truth, peace
Purple--royalty, magic, mystery
Pink--love, beauty
Gold--wealth, prosperity
White--purity, cleanliness
Black--death, earth, stability

The horse DOES NOT have to have their spirit paint reflect their personality.

**Breedings will be announced before they open. They will be flaffle-styled, once again, so that everyone has a fair chance.

> Horses that are breeding can come from one owner, or from separate owners.
> You may only keep ONE foal (One foal per person in a breeding). The other can be given away in some form, if there is an extra foal.
> Payment for breedings is due BEFORE the foals are finished. Send your trade after your pair is picked, and the colorist will accept it when they are finished.

Only adults and elders can breed. Yearlings can not breed, but they can still have a mate, if they wish.

> Adults will produce 2-3 foals. However, it will be a smaller percentage that actually have three foals (30% chance—70/30) .

--One more foal can be added to the bunch with the completion of a two page RP dealing with the pregnancy or relationship of the mates (30 posts, at least four sentences per post).

> Elders have an advantage in breeding.

--If there is one elder in a pair, then they will increase the chances of having three foals (60%--40/60).

--If both mates are an elder, then they have the chance of having three to four foals (30% for four foals--70/30). They can still earn an extra foal by completing an RP with the same requirements as above.

Breeding Cost

> 10k from each owner.

If you have any questions, please feel free o ask a staff member!

[Q.] What's this shop about?
[A.] Well, wild is a shop about western mustangs. It's set in the time period of the early to mid-1800s, when mustangs were abundant in the west. It focuses on both the cultures of the cowboy and Indian, and how horses were important to them.

[Q.] Why do all of the horses look different?
[A.] It's because we don't have set lineart and templates here. Each horse is drawn separately, and is unique.

[Q.] How can I get one?
[A.] You can get a horse from an event, as a gift, or from customs. However, only accept it if you're going to be able to keep up with RPs.

[Q.] Are these horses RP required?
[A.] YES. Information can be found in the above posts.

[Q.] How do I get my pet to grow?
[A.] You have to RP it! Certain stages have certain requirements, so be sure to look them up in the "RP Information" post.

[Q.] Why can't I get a crazy neon-colored horse?
[A.] The horses in this shop are going to be natural-themed. They can be an unnatural breed, as long as the colors are natural.

[Q.] What does "alpha-qualified" mean?
[A.] This means that your horse is an elder, and is able to lead a herd. Herds are similar to a wolf's pack, and have two alphas that protect and nurture the herd.
