08.29.11 Our very first metaplot breeding has happened, and what's this that's revealed? A winged egg! The Search will begin on September 1st.

This shop has a no-tolerance policy for harassment, trolling, or flaming. This means that people we catch treating others in such a manner in our shop will be automatically blacklisted.

If you have issues with another customer, please keep it outside the shop. If it is shop-related, please bring it to the attention of the staff. If you have an issue with a staff member, you may bring the issue to the attention of the shopowners. Whatever you do, keep the drama out of our shop.

Whining about lost events, and begging for pets/gold/favors only serve to make you look a fool and irritate the staff. Don't do it. If it becomes too much, you may be hit with a warning.

Roleplaying and thread activity are optional. Your dragons will never be rehomed for lack of activity. However, thread activity will help you to be around when special events occur, and roleplaying does carry with it certain special perks. You can see the F.A.Q. for more information on the perks.

This shop is a home for the shopowners, and as such, we'd like to keep it a happy home. We understand that bad things can happen to good people, and that sometimes you want to talk about it, but please keep negativity to a minimum. If you really feel the need to vent, you might consider posting in your own Gaia journal instead.

Finally, everyone has different triggers about topics that bother or upset them. Please be courteous about these triggers and keep graphic chatter or commentary to a minimum. If a staff asks you to tone down your posts, comply rather than complain.

These dragons are not to be sold, ever. Customers of this shop may not profit using their dragons.

You may adjust your dragon to fit into a signature image. Crops, resizing, pasting into a crowd-image are all acceptable to us. Any other adjustments/edits made to the artwork are approved on a case-by-case basis, and must be submitted to Fei Yi Long and approved before you may use them.

Do not steal the artwork. You may show it off, but you may never claim it as your own work. If you suspect someone of stealing this artwork, please contact staff rather than trying to handle the matter yourself.

Wei Kun Lian has a naming rule in place. All names must be Chinese or like chinese. If you desperately wish to name your dragon by another type of name, you may submit it to the shopowners for approval and pay 5,000g for the privilege. This cost does not apply to auction pets or cosplays, which may name outside of naming rules for free.

Roleplay is to be kept to PG-13 level. Graphic descriptions of violence, nudity, or sex are not something we want to read about.

Voluntary rehoming is acceptable. Owners who no longer wish to keep their dragons may send a request to Fei Yi Long and the dragons will be redistributed. Owners that are polite about this will have a say in their dragons' new homes.

Owners who have been blacklisted retain ownership of their dragons. Their dragons will grow to adult if any other stage, but may not access the additional stage of elder. These dragons are in exile in the shop world, and may not participate in any roleplay or events. They are considered dead to all other dragons.

Please do not roleplay any world-changing event in this shop without prior permission of the shopowners. But if you have an awesome idea for a metaplot event, festival, etc, please contact the staff and suggest it. We may run with your metaplot idea.

The eggs of the dragons create heat on their own. They pulsate with it, faintly, warm enough to keep them comfortable for as long as they wish. Most Long actually nest their eggs outside, where rain can hit them because water cools the egg shell, and as the egg shell cools, it turns brittle, allowing a baby dragon the ability to crack it open and escape into the world of growing Long.

Qiu Long are children, and as many types of humans there are in the world, there are so many types and temperaments of Long, too. Most children love to play, love sweets, are excitable, distractable, curious about the world. Long children quickly learn to fly despite having no wings, and can breathe fire, as well as being able to practice clumsy telekinesis. As they age, Long gain precision and skill with all of their magics.

Yao Long are the strongest magic users in their society. In addition to all the magics they have ever had, they have gained control over their own body enough to bend its shape to their will, allowing them to shift into a humanoid state. Although Yao can shift back and forth between their humanoid and adult dragon forms, most of them choose to remain in humanoid form indefinitely, as a mute testament to their wisdom and power.

Long believe that the grasshopper offers enhanced happiness, good health, good luck, wealth, abundance, and fertility, so it is highly sought-after as a pet. Premade Long are available for those who would like a dragon when one isn't readily available, but are on a budget. We offer the option of adult-only or growing Xun Chang, and allow you to choose the gender. However, everything else, from coloring to markings, is up to the colorist. We call them premade because we encourage colorists to have one of each gender of growing and non-growing on hand, in case someone requests one. Premade Long are only available when a colorist has customs spots open.

Semi-custom Long allow a bit more flexibility for you. As before, both adult-only and growing Xun Chang are available, and you get to choose the gender. However, in addition to this, you get to choose a single marking suggestion, such as stripes, and may pick from the following: 2-3 colors, 1 posted or linked palette, an inspiration image, song, or poem. After that, everything is up to the colorist, who may decide to embellish your Long with further markings, or may find great inspiration from the image but cannot make the markings work. Semi-custom Long will be PMed to you for final approval, unless you choose "Surprise me!", but only small changes may be requested at that point. Semi-custom Long are available when a colorist has customs spots open.

Full Customs, at this point in time, do not include edits. They are available as either adult only, child to adult, or egg to adult Xun Chang, and once again, you choose the gender. In addition to this, you choose the specific colors and marking schemes of the dragons, though allowances must be made to the colorist in order to ensure that the colors look good with our templates. Color-only cosplays are certainly allowed, and reference pictures are greatly encouraged. Custom Long will always be PMed to you for final approval, so that we know you are completely happy with the result. Full Custom Long are available when a colorist has spots open, and may be available as well for a bribe when spots are not open, though inquiries should be posted in the colorist thread, and never PMed to the colorist themselves.

Long live in a society that celebrates family. Although they lay eggs as opposed to carrying live young, they can be very loving and attentive parents, and while children can be a hardship, it is not an absolute fact of nature. Below are some of the methods in which Long may have children of their own, along with links to detailed information and opportunities for breedings.

>>>>>Common Breeding
This is the breeding nearly everyone is familiar with. A male and female Long, through affection, mate. The relationship that settles between them may be a one-night stand, or a lifetime of love. Whatever the relationship, they spend some time together in a physical way, and as a result, they are gifted with a clutch of eggs. The eggs in the clutch may be as few as two, or as many as nine, with a potential of ten children (counting the possible twin-egg that occurs with the consumption of one of our steamed buns).


>>>>>Surrogate Breeding
Sometimes, nature doesn't quite favor the creation of a family. Partners who are the same gender may wish very hard for a child, but that wish isn't granted through nature. However, through magic and the use of a surrogate parent of the opposite gender, even homosexual couples may now have children of their own. A clutch using a surrogate parent has the same potential numbers as a common breeding clutch, and though magic is used to suppress the genetics of the surrogate parent, it isn't always perfect. There is a small chance that any or all of the eggs in a surrogate breeding clutch may have some markings or coloring in common with the surrogate parent, as well as the true parents.

Adoption has long been a choice for both heterosexual and homosexual Long, either as partners or all by themselves, for creating a family without worrying about genetics. Adoption is regulated in various places within the lands of the Long, ensuring that the children have parents from the very beginning. Eggs are kept in incubation until a family is found, ensuring safe development and storage. However, as the biological parents of the clutch aren't around to benefit from the magical dim sum or other clutch increasing methods, adoption clutches are smaller. And because the raising of children can be a difficult task, single Long who wish to be parents are entrusted with fewer eggs than couples, ensuring that they have the ability to attentively raise all children.

Steamed, fluffy white bun filled with lotus seed paste.

Glutinous rice steamed with egg, scallops, mushrooms, water chestnuts, and meat, wrapped in a lotus leaf. The mixture draws flavor from the leaf during steaming.

Once your order has been posted, please wait for a quoted reply from Fei Yi Long before sending the trade for the item(s) to Fei Yi Long. The quoted reply will include information such as what colorist is involved with your order, or what steps need to be taken.

Please note that in the case of the Bao (buns), you may order them either at the time of a breeding, or prior to the time of a breeding, if you'd like to have some in stock for future breedings. As only a couple of the buns are limited in stock, it is recommended that you order unlimited bao at the time of a breeding.
